I think Toyota makes a great truck as well as anything else they do. I just read an article in the newspaper a few days ago. It was about automobile reliability/satisfaction rating. Toyota had the highest satisfaction rating of all manufactured vehicles in the world and Ford had the lowest satisfaction rating. Dodge was second to last. My wife and I own a new Toyota car each. Their great, what can I say.

I am curious as to where you got this information?

I have personal experience that completely contradicts your remark. :)

I fully agree with you. Cummnzpowr must have rocks in his head.

isnt that great, toyotas made in texas, and my dodge was made in mexico.

whats up with that?

What's wrong with THAT? My Dodge was made in Mexico, which are better then the US made and my Toyota Avalon was made in Kentucky. All Avalon's are made in Kentucky.

If Toyota makes anything with a diesel - you can bet your rearend (Dana-80, of course... ) that I'll be taking a long, close look at what they have to offer.

The Japanese have been building diesels for a long time, (Hino, Mitsubishi Fuso, Yanmar, etc. ), so I certainly wouldn't sell them short! They aren't going to sit idly by forever and watch the American (and German) manufacturers make the profits they're making in the U. S. market. I'm frankly surprised that it's taken them this long to become players!!

Anyone ever heard of Duramax I wounder were that motor comes from. :-laf :-laf

Regardless of quality I personally would never buy a foreign car.

Why is this on the Comp. forum anyway

That's funny because I see in your signature that you own a 2003 Dodge that was built in Mexico by a company that is German owned  :)

My American truck was made in Mexico and my Japanese car, Toyota Avalon, was made in Georgetown, Kentucky.

My Dodge Ram (built in Mexico by a German manufacturer) stands in contrast to my "Japanese" Acura 3. 2TL-S that was built in Marysville, Ohio with an engine that came from Ada, Ohio.

My 2 cents... . owned an 04 Tundra and currently own a 04 Sequoia.....

Traded my tundra in for my Ram (because no matter how good the tundra was, it replaced my old ram and i couldnt deal with the small truck)... . wife called 5 minutes ago and said her sequoia wont start... . (it's got 15k miles on it, and she'd just been driving it for 35 minutes)..... that being said, Toyota does make a solid car... they are more expensive (for the features), but they do hold their resale value, and they are well built... . I'd personally consider a Toyota Full Size Diesel (but I love my ram so it's not gonna happen)...

and blindly buying american "would never buy a foreign car" doesnt work to hot these days as we dont make much anymore (unfortunately).....

The Tundra is actually a pretty nice/civilised ride for a 1/2 tonner, same for the sequioa... oh and my wife drives an `05 "American" Chevy Equinox that was built in Canada, has a 3. 4L engine made in China (??!) and a 5 speed Automatic sourced from Aisin Warner in Japan... beat that one!LOL!!

My UFO was built in the distant beta reticuli galaxy! Top THAT! Not even built by Humans!!!!!!

Or was is Zeta Reticuli?

you all are a bunch of traitors.

anybody want a one way ticket out of the US, let me know and i'll buy it.

Traitors, what is wrong with buying a Japanese car made in the USA. What's wrong with buying any foreign car?

Dudes,

I'm not a moderator, but I would like to see this thread stay on-topic. We're here for one goal - advancing diesel technology and to have fun. Keep the political banter in the political forum.

Thanks,

Matt
