The press release material for the 3500 Chassis Cab lists new ratios for the G56. Looks like all the gears are higher (except for 5th, which is still 1:1)... including a . 74 OD.

Anyone know if these new ratios will be rolled out for the pickups in 07?

Good catch on the new ratios (I didn't verify the old and new - assuming you did a good job there  ).

I suspect all things will be rolled into the pickup line over time as soon as they clear out existing inventories of old parts. Remember they never really 'announced' the G56, just started slapping it in when they ran out of NV5600s.

The ratios are as follows:

Old G56 New G56

1st 6. 29 5. 94

2nd 3. 48 3. 28

3rd 2. 10 1. 98

4th 1. 38 1. 30

5th 1. 0 1. 0

6th 0. 79 0. 74

R 5. 74 5. 42

Hmmm, looks like the "smart" forum software takes out all the spaces and screws up the format.

well maybe it's true... . Now how do I get my current G56 ratio changed! I would like to see them have a 7. x reverse - I miss the CAD on the 2nd Gens.

What's the final on the NV5600? Is it . 73? You know, I would rather have the ratios of the original G56 teamed with a higher rear axle ratio, because OD is closer ratio to 5th so there's less of a RPM drop when you shift from 5th to 6th (which makes it nice for towing).
