nope... what makes this site cool is having the choices and meetin' up with guys and checking out trucks. I saw yours at Foothill too... clean( I was the guy quizzing you about your advanced cover). I was bummed when I went out and saw my 'heated seats' controls where my new gauges were going.

You maybe right, but some of us just like to look at this stuff and the gauges look cool. There's lots of stuff people do to these trucks that they don't need, but if you like it and you don't mind spending the money, what the hell, go for it.

I just drove 80+ mph up the Baker grade on I-15 on my way north to Las Vegas (outside temp 115 degrees) passing Fords and Chevys. No over heating at all. I even got over 18 mpg!

Heading back to Oregon Tuesday. Didnt blow up the motor on this 2500 mile trip!

PB,

Ok whats your secret?..... We have the same truck (HO 04 4x4 auto) and the best MPG i see is 15MPG and thats on 65-70 100 miles freeway a day... . empty no grades.

What gives?

Yours is a Calif 600 and mine is a unfriendly California 555 HO with no smog equip!

Also no cat converter on the 04 HO

ok... . i was not looking close enough at your sig... . thought you had the 04. 5 as well.

And i thought maybe you had a magic pill... ... .

Well maybe someday ill get the MPGs up to your level.

No, you didn't blow anything up... BUT

You may have overheated the transmission fluid which will shorted the life of the transmission.

It will probally go out the day after the warranty expires.

Im just kidding. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

That's a very good point, without knowing the temps of the various components, you will have no way of knowing if they are being exeeded which may shorten thier service life.

PB, have a good trip back to OR, love it up there.

I was just looking through Geno's latest catalog and saw the cubby mount for the gauges. The catalog states that the mount will work only with Autometer gauges. I re-read your post and see you are using Di-Pricol. I would like to use Di-Pricol also. Was there any issues with installing the gauges? I though they were all pretty much the same?

Yes, I used the DiPricol with no problems. As long as they are standard sized gauges, I don't think that there would be a problem. They fit in perfectly, and are snug and easily readible. Even if a gauge was a little bigger, it would be a simple task to trim the opening... ..... Sarge

I chipped (275's and PE Comp) my '01 to help me pull those heavier loads. It seems I will not be able to put a box on my '04. 5 with egt readings everyone is getting.

I pulled a load to Louisiana on Sunday night that grossed out at 32,290. She pulled it at 70 easily. with the egt's everyone is seeing I would have to turn the box off.

I would like to get a chip for this truck - but if I can only use it when I'm bobtail - what good is that?

I ordered the same setup as sarge and Robin at Genos told me that a slight modification of the bracket will accomodate the other gauges.

The gauge mount is black and the dash is Agate (dark gray), unfortunately the paint is no longer available from Genos or Mopar. I will just leave mine black.

Whats up with the paint not available? I bought the x-monitor and tried to get the taupe color to match the A-Pilar and Mopar discontinued that color.

I ended up sending it back, (thanks Geno's) and bought the SRT-10 pilar with a Di-Pricol transmission temp gauge.

I thought the bombing bug was about over until I saw Sarge's gauge mount. :p

Now I'm gonna need EGT, Boost, and Fuel Press gauges.

There goes the checkbook :{

It will be over when the checkbook is empty or you quit breathing, which ever comes first.

Genos has no explanation about why Mopar discontiued the touchup paint.

The pod came from Geno's. It was also advertised in the last TRR. Bob4X4 that installed mine had the paint and color matched it to the dash. Not sure if it was left over, or if he can still get it. I really like the look too. I prefer the factory installed look, as to some of the others.
