Just had a new Goerend transmission and triple disc Tc installed.

What a difference! Just in going home 20 miles solo. Shifts were very good. No hanging up. Solid.

Cannot wait until I put the 38' toy hauler on, and try it out at 24,000#!

I put in a new transmission and TC. TC was slipping. 150,000 miles.

It used to shift goofy, esp. trying to get out of 2nd gear. Sometimes almost never shift out.

Real nice shifts now. With the miles I had, went with the whole thing. If transmission good, valve body and TC would do.

I believe the TC itself is about $1300.

I asked for a quote on my 97 47RE , and here it is:

The full transmission is 3550. 00, which includes the triple disc converter
and higher pressure valve body. We would definitely recommend the billet
input shaft, which is an additional 600. 00, with the purchase of a full
unit. Another suggestion, would be replacing the flex plate, since it's
probably the original one. The reinforced plate is 350. 00 and the billet is
450. 00. The website, Goerend Transmission Incorporated, has some information on what is done
to "beef" up these units, if you would care to take a look at your
convenience.

The core deposit is 1,000. 00 unless it would be shipped to a shop we have
dealt with and then the core deposit is waived. We charge the freight both
ways up front and arrange the core pickup after the unit is installed. I
would estimate the freight to be around 260. 00 or so x 2.

They suggested I have my local shop LeftCoastDiesel install it.

That is it. My freight was $205 each way. I got the shaft and reinforced flexplate.

I am sure that is right. Maybe the snow will go here in ND, and I can try it out!

Fat chance Melvin! We're looking at 6-10" here in Bismarck following some nice freezing rain to really make driving interesting. Needless to say but my Ram will NOT be coming out to play in the Bismarck Car Hockey League tomorrow!!!:)

We installed one with all the above back in terrible weather preseeding a record snowfall and got it all in just in time. I was a nervous wreck because it was brand new , I`d spent a bundle and had only had it down the highway enough to return the core and return home to hook up snowplow, salter, 1 ton of salt. . and as I went into the night of this horrific storm I would get under a light to check trans fluid level. So that was my break in run. The truck would shove huge piles not much over a fast idle and actully kept engine temps down. I feel like we have an edge on even much newer trucks with this trans. Plowing through snow halfway up on our doors and just go till breaking traction . Just got 2000 miles on our Goerend. Truck has 347K 2003. 4X4 DRW with 3. 73 ratio. 100% Work truck.
