2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission New Guy Here...

Seems like a great source of info.



I'm looking at a 2000 2500 CTD 6sp. Other than thoroughly checking out the ball joints, is there anything specific that I should be looking for? Although this will be my first TD pickup, I've been driving 18 wheelers for 5 years, and I used to work in a Dodge dealership.



I see hardly anyone with any Banks equipment on their rides... why is that?

Banks dont have much of a post sales type of customer service ... . No personal situations with me but every where I look I see people upset with the company. many people have had to buy a whole new motor after a banks upgrade and banks left them high and dry even tho it was warrenteed.



Check the trany fluid and see if it smells burnt



also inspect the pump wire for tampering its next to the motor and under the air horn ... ... (the thing the oil dip stick is bolted to)



Im sure more will chip in .



the good guys in the CTD diesel world are TDR,fass,outerwares,dpp,ats,dtt,edge,fleetguard,stanadyne,delvac,wildcat,scotty,holset,afe,genos,piers... and more ... ...



The bad guys... ... ... I wont go there.
