Hey guys of the first generation, I'm taking the plunge with this computer, and I hope that you guys will have some patience while I learn my way around this thing. I've read a lot here and learned a lot too. I do have some changes I've done to my truck which I haven't seen here and would share if anyone was interested. For instance, eliminating the pin on the nut on the rear axle with spicer nuts (2) to set backlash. OTC nut wrench lenghtned to tighten the early nut for the 5th gear fix on the NV4500. This is a great forum. Later guys. Tim

Welcome

Welcome, Tim! Don't worry about being new - we all were at one time. It's a lot of fun, and we all learn from each other. :) Check out the chat room, too. It gets interesting in there at night. See you around.

WELCOME Tim !!

Good to have you. We all learn something in here and it isn't always about the trucks. . for instance, computers and how to do ... whatever.

Anyway, jump in any time.

Regards, Bob

Hey Tim, Welcome aboard. I've been a member no more than a week myself. Seems like there have been a number of us newbies that have joined recently.

Welcome Tim!

You'll enjoy it over here - a great group to belong to. Tell us a little about yourself and your truck. Where do you call home etc. ?

Happy Trails

Bob

Welcome!

:)

I'm fairly new myself. This is a great place to share info on a subject that doesn't get a lot of attention elsewhere. :D

Welcome!

I'm another new member. My wife signed me up as an early Christmas present. Now I don't have to be just a lurker.

Home and truck

Thanks fellas for the welcome. I will try to post a signature this time and my home. I live in ellahurst, Ore near Cascade Locks. I am a construction millwright currently thanks to Alcoa closing our Reynolds Metals plant permantly in Troutdale. My interests are old cats(olivers) and Harleys. Will get to retire early in about a year, however my wife still has a ways to go. We do some quad riding at the beach in the summer. Am in the process of putting a 99 nv 4500 in this 92 4x4 with a new adapter bellhousing from Advance Adapters from Calif. Tim

Oh yeah... I've deleted your lost post "where did it go".

Enjoy the ride.

if you are not already signed up... Please join up with the Northwest Bombers. We need a sizeable contingent of 1st Gen'ers to keep the haughty ones in line. There are a lot of informal events up north of you in the Seattle area. You can have a great time and meet a lot of TDR types in real life :)

Hey Tim,

Its great to have another 1st gen member, especially one with a '92 (I am unbiased of course). Be prepared to learn a lot! This is a great place.

Did you know that the sleve that covers the input shaft on the NV4500HD needs to be shortened slightly prior to installation? If not send me an email and I can get you that info. You will like the NV much better than the Getrag.

Happy trails
