New Member and first post.

I picked up my truck last night: a black 3500 6-speed HO. Fortunately I have the flu and can spend the day looking at it, and maybe even drive it if I feel better. This is my first diesel and I’ll probably be asking the same questions all the new diesel owners do. This site is great and I might not have gotten the diesel without a resource like this site. I’ve been reading it for months now and have learned a lot.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and get a post on. This is one beautiful truck. I traded my V10 for this and I love the sound of the diesel and shifting the manual transmission. I tow a 16’ gooseneck, and the V10 was adequate, but I just love the diesel.

Welcome to the club, hope you get to feeling better quick. It's tough to be sick with a new toy in the driveway.

Thanks for the welcome. Spent most of the day sleeping, but I did get to drive a bit. Can’t wait until the axle gears are broken in and I can stop driving like an old lady.

I live in Rio Rancho, NM. Anyone out there from the Albuquerque area?

Don't know of a better treatment for flu than a new Dodge diesel. Go out a smell it periodically. You'll be better tomorrow.

Welcome to the club. Your next illness will be called "bombing".

Thanks again for the friendly welcome and better health wishes.

JNutter: I just moved to Rio Rancho last week and hadn’t updated my personal info. I bought the truck from Zangara. I bought my first truck (2500 V10) from them, and I read your posts about Malloy and decided to stay away from them. Is there a TDR chapter here, or are there some TDR people who informally get together?

BigMike: Unfortunately this is my only vehicle and I commute approx. 150 miles everyday, so I need to keep the warranty. Bummer. But 100,000 mile is only about 3 years away.

Hi Puff, Hope you feel better soon, I felt the same way about bombing at first 100,000 then go fast part. but the bug was to strong. I only lasted 38,000 boy what a treat it is. #ad

Jallen & BigMike:

I see what you guys mean. I’ve had the truck for 2 days and I was thinking on the way home tonight that it would be fun to have, say, just 100 more hp. I’m not sure I can wait for 100,000 miles. However, I’ll have to try and resist as best I can.
