Any heavy haulers?

DOT and HOT SHOTS

Damaged the box on my '01 in December and when I took it into the body shop they tried for a month to find a decent replacement box..... they could not find one. Went to a local trailer sales lot and they handled the CM truck beds. They assured me that the TM model would work on my truck and would still allow me to tow my 5th wheel. Well the bed on that box was way to high for 5th wheel towing and I did not want a plain flat bed. The other thing I noticed about the CM beds was that they had a lot of caulking at the seams... ... . led me to believe that they were "skip" welded instead of continuous bead.

Contacted Larry Herrin in Kilgore, TX at herrinhaulers.com , sent him measurements from my truck, hitch and 5th wheel. Picked my new bed up last Friday. I am very impressed with the work that Larry does. He had two full sized Volvo tractors in his shop that he was building beds for. One bed was going to use a hydraulic lift, and the other ramps, to load Smart Card side ways behind the cab. The work he does is nothing but top notch.

Yesterday I hitched up to the trailer... ... . sits dead level when hooked up!! Wish I would have made this change a long time ago.

Very nice looking truck. I have seen a few trucks with the CM beds and I have always been impressed. I know that several member here also have CM beds that have been very happy with their choice.

NICE When I bought my truck it had a commercial deck on it ( ugly compared to yours : ) ) and even though I had personal plates on the truck the the AMA wouldn't tow it for me. I wanted to go to a box any way. Shad

Just from the pictures you can tell there was a strong attention to detail in his work. How much does the truck bed weigh?

I did a CM bed on my 04, So far I am very happy with the unit. Truck is quieter than before and seems to handle twistee roads with the GN trailer better. I really dont know why I waited so long to switch to a flatbed, much more useable rig now. Hope you like yours at least 1/2 as much as I do mine. Beautiful looking bed you got there.
