Finally! I have been waiting to purchase a set of the Power Vision mirrors (WITH the heated feature) since purchasing my Ram in June of 1998. #ad

I was contacted by my friend Jason Burton of NW Custom (509-291-3800 or 509-993-0811, www.omnicast.net/nwcustom ) who is also a Power Vision dealer (I've been bugging him about when the HEATED mirrors were going to be released for several years now). Needless to say, I ordered a set of the recently redesigned power extended mirrors. #ad
Power Vision told me they are receiving the new mirrors today and will be shipping to dealers later this week.

From what I've been told, the new mirror head design is pretty much the same as the previous design however, the crisp lines of the old mirror heads have been softened (i. e. , more rounded, looking somewhat more like the OE mirrors). The power extension drive system has also been upgraded, requiring no periodic maintenance. I was also assured the rock solid stability of these mirrors is still present with the new design (they have been road testing them for sometime now).

Installation of these new mirrors is said to be much easier, integrating much easier with the OE electrical system (i. e. , direct plug-in connectors... I would imagine you would have to have the '98+ OE heated mirrors for this to hold true). Additionally, there are NO holes to drill, they use existing holes and provided backup plates to mount the new generation mirrors.

Man, I can't wait! No more funky passenger side mirror glass! Yeehaw!

Power Vision can be reached at 1-800-337-2557 or on their website at www.powervisionmirrors.com (please note their website is currently being redesigned and will feature their new mirrors in about one week).

Bob, I will Email you regarding the ATF.

Well, it's about time! Now if they would just hide some LED turn signals behind the glass, like the Muth Signal Mirrors that I have (you see them on Ford Expeditions, etc. ), then I'd buy a pair!

Howdy John,the power vision guys are great,I've had mine for about 2 years now,the first year I had a problem,the installer jacked me around,so I called power vision direct they sent out new one without any question and asked if I would send defective one back in original box. I asked about vertical head instead of horizontal they said they were working on it,I guess they decided to add heat instead for y'all in that cold country. these mirrors are holding up very well,if anyone needs extended mirrors check them out. Mike;
What's "need" got to do with it???? Maybe he just wants to run them in and out as he goes down the road???(hehe)

You've got that right Tracy! #ad
Come on Mike, I lost count on how many times I've mentioned to you guys that I was waiting for the heated version of the Power Vision mirrors. I like the look of the PV mirrors (MUCH more than the OE Mickey Mouse ears)... enough said? BTW, of the two different trailers I've towed, neither one has required extension mirrors.

Thanks for the heads up Joe. #ad

..... besides Mike, you never know what I may have planned for the future. #ad

I'll wait for the vertical head ones. Heck, at this point, I'd be happy just to have some new mirror glass made for my stock towing mirrors (the "new" ones), so I can have the convex part put in a different place.

I still can't believe Dodge was so short-sighted as to put it where it is now... on the TOP of the mirror when it's folded (so I can't see the rear wheels when trying to park), and on the lower outside when extended -- right where I NEED to be able to see if vehicles are in my blind spot! It would have been much better on the inside lower when extended, because that'd put it on the bottom when folded too.

Idiots.

Ya, or I may hit another mailbox right? #ad

I will see if the new Power Vision mirrors are everything I'd hoped they would be first... then I will sell the OE mirrors (you have first shot).

Andy, Mike is pretty sharp with automotive electrical wiring... a few tips from you on the mirror upgrade and he (and Emily) should be in business. #ad

I did that to my truck (a '97), bought a set of '98 mirrors from a guy in L. A. who replaced his with Powervisions. They bolt right in, but the connectors and wire colors are different. I had to do a bit of trial and error to get the right wire combination to get the mirrors to go up-down-left-right properly. I also had to add my own wires, switch, and 10 amp fuse for the mirror heaters, since that option wasn't offered in '97.
