Hello all,

I'm new here but not to forums. Just wanted to say hi, and I have a question. I'm installiing a FP gauge and was wondering if there was a special thread sealer tape I should use? I just picked up some from NAPA, says it can stand oils, acids, and alkalis. I don't want to use it if it won't work, I would hate to have leaks in the cab. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

I generally avoid the tape and use sealing compound from Permatex. Tape can have little pieces break off and get in the system.

Use Yellow Tape! It is designed for use on home heating fuel systems and other fuels. The paste stuff has abrasive solids in it and won't give way if stuck in a small orfice such as an injector nozzle.

I agree, the yellow tape is the way to go.

Fill out your sig so we can see what ya' got, and give yourself a pat on the back for the FP gauge. NOTHING is more important on 24 valvers.

Welcome,

R. J.

So do I need to use some kind of thread sealer, I don't think things would come loose.

Welcome aboard!

I used the paste stuff on both of my with no problems.

Never tried yellow tape but it should work fine also.
