Cheapest place to get a prodigy brake controller?

First tow with the 06 Megacab!

Well we pulled the trigger on a new 5th wheel. We bought a 2006 HitchHiker II LS 29. 5 FKTG. Here is the floorplan:

We looked at these for a long time and this is one of the few manufacturers that make a triple slide with a private bath. It even has room for our combo washer/dryer.

Don't know much about NU-WA but what I've read here and on the RV nets seem to indicate that it is a pretty sound product. I hope it is as good as the 1996 Alpenlite we traded in... ;)

I like the floor plan, especially that the commode isn't in a seperate room from the rest of the bathroom. I hate sitting in a closet. Enjoy!

Researched for a new 5th wheel using systems from www.rv.org.Found Hitchhiker to have a good 4star rating. Good customer to factory relationship. One of the best in Quality-Value- Towability. Just purchased new 34. 5RLTG 3 slides with gen set. We sold our unit we had had for 8 years so am looking forward to traveling in new unit.

I'd forgotten how much fun (?) setting up a new trailer can be. Got most of the little things done, including putting in the dryer vent and preparing the cabinet for my washer/dryer. Lots of cub boards and drawers in this model. I really like the hydraulic slides (lot quieter and smoother then my Alpenlite). Really like the bath/master on the same level (no steps). That means three steps down to the living room, rather then two for most trailers. I also really like the "adjustable height package" on the spring brackets. I had them set it to the middle position and that is just about perfect (level with the truck with a little more then 5" clearance. There is about 6 inches of adjustment with this package. I was about to lower the back of my truck, but this isn't necessary now. We will be taking it out on a short trip at the end of the month to check the systems out... ;)

I opted not to get a washer/dryer, heard the dryers are real slow and not that great something like a 1300 watt element which is like a hair dryer. Washers are great from what I hear. I looked at the Hitchhikers but I got a great deal on my Cardinal. Congrats on the purchase.

They are real slow... . might take up to two hours to dry a load... but it sure nice to be able to wash a few socks, t-shirts, or the occassional pair of pants and towels. Besides... when I'm hooked up to the parks power I make sure I get my money's worth... :D

Congrats on a great trailer. We have an 03' HH II LS 30. 5 RLBG w/2 slides, we absolutely love it. If you ever have any problems, the folks at Custom Campers will take care of you without any hassle what so ever!

Safe travels to you!

Dave
