I am trying to purchase a new charger. I'm looking at EEP's and HTT's new charger. Has anyone tried the HTB2 yet? I know the EEP handles 60psi. I'm looking for good response's, I don't want fights breaking out, just honest good answers. Thanks.
There is some talk about them over on the DTR! I'd like to see if one would handle my fuel as a single. Your probably going to see more and more singles come out as we seem to have a handle on the Twins combo's, the quest for the ultimate single still goes on though.
TDR member DarrellB just purchased one of HTT's HTB2's. I know he will be installing it ASAP along with his new Dual Disk and he'll be attempting to pull this Saturday. PM him and see what he thinks of it.
I called and talked to them and I end up ordering one of the the quick spool KillerB2. They told me it would spool like an HX40 with a 14 housing on it. Compressors side will be a 62mm, Not sure on flow, but I am hopping for a quick spool. They also said it would be waste gated at 30 psi. It would be neat to see what it would do on a flow bench.
I was interested in one of these new turbos also. Called and talked to them, very informative. Sounded like the turbo to go with for what I have. Of course I have talked to others and now a guy is telling me the ats aurora is a better turbo. Any advice on what to go for. A positive for the htb2 was the price! In the market and looking to get the something that will do the best job short of twins. Thanks. Lee.
I called and talked to Paul today. Very informative... I know he says it will out flow a 14cm2 hx40 on the exhaust side... but the only thing that leaves doubt in my mind is the 12cm2 exh. housing outlet... same as my HX35 ?!? I'm not so concerned about a little lag but i have to have a 200-300 drop in EGTs
Lag is not an issue with this turbo. The ones you guys will get will perform better than mine. I was the guinnea pig for this turbo for Paul and Steve.
I tested this with a wide range of injectors and box settings. It works great.
The injectors I am running are meant for a twin turbo truck (in the process of fabbing up). With my comp on 5x5 I can hit 1600 but it takes a few seconds to get there. With the 40 and the same injectors, I would hit 1600 almost instantly on 5x5.
Well guys paul said mine should ship out either today or monday,
TORQUE THIS, can you give your oppion on the difference between the 2 Compressor choices either the 62 or the Killer B2 64mm.
Other then 2mm in size what else is different? maybe I should call paul again.
one other question when you was running this turbo how much power was your truck making and did you ever tow? I have to have a turbo that I can tow with or this isn't going to work out at all.
I just called paul and he told me my turbo will ship today. I will be getting a HTB2 with the 62mm Compressor and the "clip the turbine wheels" as they put it will also be done.
I hope a turbo is not like a bird If if you clip the wings of a bird they can't fly. I want my truck to FLY Oo.
The HTB2 isn't wastegated is it? I hear it can handle up to about 45psi... is this right? I need a new turbo soon and the guys over at htt seem to be good. . not only that but they are about 10 mins from my house
I was told the waste gate would be set to about 30 psi. and I could change it if I wanted. I read on the web page it would handle up to 50 but their is no data to show how long it would live after that.
