Uhh, Just making a comment here about Fuel prices. .

I am still working on the Hydrogen kit. .

Found out I do have the mixture too strong. I am going to redo it at a weaker solution. . About 20-24 ounce by weight to 1 gallon of water. Should go down to like 25-30 amps total draw.

Thanks for the link. That's a really good looking kit, a bit pricey, but really nice. Any results or findings yet? I haven't looked over the link yet, but from what I've read elsewhere amp draw should be around 15-20.

For my 9 pack, the average should be like 25 or so. from what I see on my volt meter, it still says 14 volts even when the Amps is 30 amp.

I did a 200 mile drive to Wendover, UT,. . All flat freeway BUT, There was a 20 mph crosswind. With all that and my wind delector folded down, i was averaging 20 MPG on the overhead. When I was returning, I had a tailwind for a little bit. . that was indicating about 27-29 mpg. . Then I got a crosswind again. . In a crosswind, I was always showing around 17 or so MPG so I think it is helping. . Just have to see when it gets broke-in

I don't know if the hydrogen is going to affect the overhead readin but I just added 18 gallons to the tank. I have 472 miles on this tank so I will add some then figure the MPG by hand.

But, So far I am pretty much seeing about 3-4 mpg increase. . The Innards of the cells still need to "Season some and then I will add some water later on.

Just want to say many thanks for your input and pictures. As to pricey kit, I have made many trips trying to get parts so having it all in one package does have its advantages and one may want to take that into consideration. How did you make the hole in the intake tube? Did you have to disconnect the tube and then drill it or how?

The metal flange for the rubber tube to hook to, where the Filter minder is on the AFE Air cleaner mount, I just took the filter off, drilled the tube.

They don't say to Tap it but that helped it to thread in. I then swept the shavings out as I could reach it. I also used a little gasket maker on the threads.

Be a pretty neat thing to see how much vacuum there is when powering up.

Eric, what speed were you traveling on the freeway?

If the math does show a track record of 3+ MPG improvement I'd consider your hydrogen generator system a success.

Still testing but as late I am having a problem with a dead pedal issue. do not believe it is because of the hydrogen as it was happening before. .

I was traveling at 65-70 on that 200 mile trip and it was showing 20 mpg on the overhead with a pretty strong crosswind. . That has never happened on this truck whenever I took a trip.

About my dead pedal issue, Have a weird thing where the engine is dead for like a second or 2 then goes again..... Intermittent. . ... When I check the code. . only 0500 comes up for the spedo..... See my thread on the 2nd gen engine forum.

I thought it was a weird thing for the VP44 so I unhooked my Edge EZ. . Still did it. . Unhooked my 4 Wilre Blue Chip. . The one I have had for 7 years!... took a drive last night, didn't do it. . Will see for the next few days on this... Then I will hook my Edge up and see if it will do it. . VP-44 is Original and has 100K on it.

Anyway, I might not install my wifes kit as it would be right over the spare tire door and inconvenient. (clumsy and tipping when opening the spare tire door)... I am considering adding the 6 pack to my 9 pack as the makers of this unit said some people have installed their 18 pack they sell, on the Cummins with great results. . I might try that.

I have a couple of questions for u, did u run te hose in the air intake at an angle or straight in, could u use a 90 degree fitting for a smoother look. where did u pick up the hot wire at, mine is an 04

My hose is just straight in to the intake tube. As there is vacuum at the turbo, I don't see any need to angle it.

I don't know where I hooked the hot wire to. . I did tap into a key-on hot fuse at the side fuse panel to power the switch I have. . (I can turn it off when the engine is running like when parking the RV and such).

The hydrogen thing is gonna have to be put on hold as I found out I have the dreaded 0216 code for the VP-44. Gonna buy a rebuilt one from Ind. Inj. tomorrow and fix it saturday.

I would be curious how many have or are building hydrogen generators and what type is it and what does it use to energise, ie baking soda or what

PS Good looking job Eric

Sodium Hydroxide... It is sorta like a battery acid. . very corrosive. Vinager is used to clean up any spills. . just squirt it and it cancels it out.

on the mix... . You mix 25 OZ by weight of Sodium Hydroxide to 1 gal. Distilled water . . Mix in an open container so the reaction and heat can do its thing, then fill the cells. 12 volt at 2. 4 amps per cell is all it takes.

Finally got to Yuma drove 1805 miles, using 145. 9 gal, via Bryce and Zion and going around the Grand Caynon. I got as low as 11. 67 and a high of 14. 52 fully loaded for the winter. Last Spring driving home was 1358 miles and used 129 gal. will do some tweaking and am very happy with results
