Ford Super Duty Pedal

73-87 chevy to cummins wiring.

Hi, I need some input/advice.

I want a 1/2 ton pickup for a daily driver, since I put on 500 miles per week. I want a deisel for the fuel mileage. The older baby deisel trucks are getting 35 to 45 MPG. I think the right engine in a 1/2 ton should yeild close to 30 MPG, that would be prefect. I drive a ranger at this time but the truck and bed are not big enough since I use it for work a lot. I would like to find a 2nd gen dodge and put deisel power in it. Were do I start? Ant cost guesstomates. Thanks for any input.

Go to dovebid.com, they have a transportation auction once a month with lots of read vans.

Some are running, some are not. Just about every configuration, 98-99% are rotary VE pumps.

Once your see some in your area of the country, go visit the site and check out the van. Talk with the head mechanics, etc. take lots of info, and go bid.

It seems they are runniing from $1500-3000 depending on shape for a 4bt TH400 auto running.

NON runner are less.

I like getting the full runner because I now have everything to make the transplant wo have to find pieces. besides I can drive it for a few miles and really verify its condition.

Good luck

Thanks for the repleys so far, any more comments are weclome. I sure do like the sound of a 1/2 ton dodge 2nd gen. Any of the auto trannys or bell housings bolt up to the cummins. Will the electrical night mare.
