This past weekend I installed 215 injectors in my 95. Since then I have had a problem with fueling. I would equate it to how a gasser runs when it's got a miss in the ignition. It doesn't seem to matter which gear, only light throttle conditions. WOT it goes better than before. Any ideas on what to look for? Could I have air in the system, fuel line problem due to more fueling, etc. Thanks for any ideas you can share to track down this problem. I did a search, but had no luck there. :(

Where did you get the injectors?

used? see them run before?

Air, dirt , del valves ,alot of possibilities. miss at idle too?

They are used injectors. They looked as though they had been through a cleaning process and the person I got them from spoke about that. Carbon and so on was not present, at least in comparison to my old ones. The first day I didn't notice the problem, and the more I have driven with them in, I sense that it is like maybe one of the six is acting up. Is there a process for checking delivery valves. I suppose I should remove them, locate a shop in the area that works on them and see if the problem occurs again after re-installing them.

The delivery valves probably aren't bad or malfunctioning... . it's the fact that they are too small. Larger delivery valves from a 215 pump, which I believe are known as " 191's " will solve this little stumble.

Your truck probably had this stumble before, but the injectors just made it worse.

The delivery valves on a 160 pump shouldn't have to be changed for 215 injectors. If it does it at an idle I would check each injector by loosening the lines, kind of like pulling plug wires on a gasser. This might let you know if it's a single injector causing the problem. The fact that they were clean when you got them is kind of a bad sign. If it wasn't done at a shop, whoever cleaned them may have got foreign material in the injector.

Use caution if you are loosening the lines while running, very high pressure there.

I'd just take the injectors to a shop and have them checked. I pay $8 each for the service from my John Deere dealer. It only takes a short drop, banging around or a small piece of crud to mess the nozzles up. Your pump should be fine.

Mine does the same thing at arount 1200 - 1400 rpm since the 215 injectors. The cure is bigger delivery valves. The 215 pumps come with . 181 delivery valves, the . 191 are out of the marine pumps I believe. The 180 comes with . 151, and the 160 with . 131.

Thanks to all of you. It gives me some options to look at. I think for now I will remove them and have them checked and serviced as Illflem suggested. If the problem still exists after that, I'll need to consider delivery valves. Thanks again to all of you.
