i was implieing, to the people who have there rails caped or bolted, there is no relief in the system and it will work fine for a while but as with any metal there is a amount of flexing it can do before it cracks. now the ones who have done this capped (me) now have a alternative( modded valve) with will still safe guard the system and allow for more power at the same time. it allows a blow off at 29,000 instead of 26,000 or lower. and if parts need to be freed up or replaced it is also done, so the the valve may now function properly.

So, 29,000psi is better on an injector than 26,000psi?

These kinds of mods are better left to the WFO type of Cummins owner.

thanks for explaining that to me how much does one of these new relief valves cost. If the factory one opens is it done far are it closes itself back are is it more like a rupture disc that is only good for one time?

no it's set by spring psi and re seats after it opens.

they are @ www.ngmdiesel.com check it out.

the problem, is that most of the valves i saw have a way lower opening point, like 17-18k--reducing power and increaseing the likelyhood of your injectors carboning up--because they cant self clean like they were designed to @ 23kpsi. but most performance guys will like this product, and those who like pressure.

is this thing 500 dollars i mean wow

the cost is for a brand new modded valve, to mod a existing valve is like $150, and remember 500 is a lot cheaper than a new set of injectors... ... jmo

for 50 dollars i modded mine for 100 i would buy a new modded valve for those prices i stick with my stock and be perfectly fine

its a very simple element how can it cost so much to rebuild, i work in the plants and for 500 dollars you could freakin buy a 2 are 3 inch relief valve guess i am just in the wrong business thanks for the information but not everyone has endless pockets to dump into there truck

On Quickserve a new pressure relief valve is shown at $452. 16

So for an extra $47. 84 I get a modded valve.

But if I send you a used valve, it gets modded for $150?

Isn't the only difference between a used and new valve a worn spring?

it gets rebuilt and fresh parts are installed, except the body, thats why its 150--parts and labour. everything is brand new on the 500 one, some want brand new stuff so we offered it!
