Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) new Injectors

Good Day to all. I Just found out that I have 2 bad injectors and I'm wondering if I should go with bigger ones like the 80 hp ones or should I stay with the stock ones?



I have the fass system now so. What do you all think? Stock or aftermarket injectors?

I would upgrade to some Formula 1 injectors..... Something like mach 1. 6's or so.

What about your air?, can it handle larger injectors? The EDM 1. 6's are really nice, but do you have enough air for them? What about gauges? What about your clutch / transmission?

My dad thought the 80hp would be enough for him. He's kicked himself ever since. Go with 100hp or better.

I ran a set of Mach 1. 75's with a stock HY-35 and an EZ and it was great! EGT's are not a problem and fuel mileage actually improved slightly. You do have a point on installing some gauges just to keep an eye on things.

Be sure to get EDM rather than extrude honed they burn much cleaner, also go with 80 hp as a minimum.

I would also go bigger than 80hp. But I ran some DD2's for a while and realy liked them a lot. They were perfect for towing. I ran them with a Drag comp on 3x5, I would set the cruze at 74mph at 16,500 and fly right up I-5. I had a Piers 35/12 on at the time and when doing the speed limit I would only get up to about 1000 deg. Pre turbo.

A very good injector for the $$$. I also ran a set of Supermentals but they are a little big for towing heavy with. I had to keep the box on 1x5 and 2x5 most of the time or it would get to HOT. EDM's are cool but for the $$ I don't mind a little smoke with the extrude honed injectors. Look for a used set if ya can. You can pick DD'2s up for under 350. 00 usf.

I picked up a set of DDII's for 325 from the TDR classifieds. I installed them last week and they are awesome. They do smoke a little but only when you mash the throttle at low rpm's. At wot and full boost there is just a haze coming out the tailpipe.

Kdoerr, I bought my mach1. 5's From Doug(jetpilot) about two month's ago and am very happy with them Oo. and thinking I should have gone alittle bit bigger(doesn't every body) so in my unprofessional opinion go for the 1. 5's to 2. 5's you will be happy Don

Sorry it took so long to get back. Well I went to the 80 hp injectors and had them mow for 4 days and now my fass system pump is dead but I like the 80 a lot. I have to keep in mind that it is still a work truck. Keith
