Well after 2 month that I install PW injectors finally I pull the trailer, I really liked
the speed now 70 to 75 on flat road and 65 on the hills, boost 11 lbs , Pyro 800 f, trans
temp 120 f, the only thing fuel when down
12 miles gallons , But I,m wondering about the
housing I still have the 18. 5cm in the truck and I bougt the 16cm . those guy that pull trailers what do you do on this case?change or keep the 18. 5cm
trailer weight 5500 pounds. Any feed back would be
appreciated.

My truck is very similar to yours. I have installed the 16cm housing before I did any other mods. This change made the engine build power earlier. I have added the PW injectors and turned the pump just a little. It is a lot more impressive after these changes. If I had my time to do over I would have bought the 14cm housing. My boost,no load, is 28PSI

I got a few questions for you fellas. Where did you purchase the PW injectors and smaller turbo housing? Are these parts available online? Have you heard of Lucas injectors? (I hear they might be even better than PW's). I have everything stock in my baby, and I'm lookin at tryin' to poke a few more ponies out of her. Any good sources would be helpful?

The PW injectors are a good improvment for power. I bought mine at City Diesel in Decatur Alabama. Big Don may have better set of injectors that he is using.
You can ask him about the housing too.
I think the 14cm housing is best choice.

The Lucas injectors make more power than the PW's I've ran both.

Julio,
Check the boost gauge connections. You should have a reading in the low 20's or at least in the upper teens. That is at wide open throttle. Also check the clamps on the hose's from the turbo to the intercooler and on up to the intake area. Make sure there are no leaks in that area.

JULIOMC,
Install the 16cm^2 housing, I just did, and I tow regularly from what your trailer weighs to 10,000lbs. With that housing and your injectors, your day will be nothing but smiles #ad

I got my housing, injectors, exhaust, gauges at BD. I installed the 16cm housing on mine. For me, going from the stock 18. 5cm housing down to 16 was a little dissapointing. I guess its not that much change. If I did it again, I'd go to the 14cm. wastegated housing. Its more money but I think for me closer to what I want. I think your stock housing would be a 18. 5cm like mine was.
Hint - when it gets close to time for the upgrade you can do it yourself. Just make sure you start soaking the bolts/nuts with liquid wrench (really soak em) several times before the removal/install day. It sure helped me getting them off. If you hoop a bolt taking them out they are real pricey to replace. Dodge wanted $14. 00 per bolt and $9. 00 a nut. They are special bolts that don't expand and loosen off.

I have to say, that I have heard from a number of people who complained about the milage they got using the PW injectors... And every one of them has an automatic. Is that a good clue? I think so. Perhaps Piers or Bill K can provide us a little input into that...
