I've finally got the boost gague hooked up, but last night when I took the truck for a test drive there was a lot of hissing like air was leaking from the back of the new Isspro gauge. Any body else had this problem or have any suggestions on how to eliminate the hissing sound? Thanks. ;)

Hissing or buzzing? If it's buzzing, that's normal. If it's hissing, did you use teflon tape (or your favorite thread sealant)? Did you make sure you didn't crush the ferrule when you installed the boost tube ends in the compression fittings?

I have ISSPRO gauges and none of them buzz. What is this buzz you are talking about?

Sometimes the boost gauge (doesn't matter if it's an Isspro or other) will make a buzzing noise caused by pressure waves in the boost tubing. It can be cured using something called a snubber.

There are other threads about it. I just happened to pick those 2.

It's not a buzzing. It's definitely a hissing of air escaping from somewhere. I took the gauge completely out of the pod and loosened the brass fitting on the back while driving. When I did that it got progressively louder. So the teflon tape may be my best bet.

I don't think the compression fitting is my problem. I took it apart and it seemed to be in good shape. I called Isspro and the guy I spoke with said I should try using a wrench to put a little more pressure on the compression fitting. When I originally put on the fitting I only made it finger tight.

I applaud those who can install these gauges in 4-5 hours. I've worked on these dang gauges every night for almost two weeks and I still have a long way to go.

I have the chatter noise occasionally with my isspro, but no hiss. I agree to tighten a little more than hand tight for the proper compression fit to take place in the fittings.
