Got a new job guys and gals. I am carpenter/maintenance guy at The Wildlife Experience Museum in south Denver (Lincoln and 3 lights east of I-25).

Today was my third day. Been good so far. The building is a 3-story 120,000 square foot wildlife museum. I get to do everything from maintain the air handling units, the cooling tower, fire sprinkler system, to getting on the genie lift and replace track lights at 40 feet in the air, to fixing the faucets in the women's bathroom.

Today I had to fix a "Overhead Door" brand roll up fire/security door. It is tied into the fire system and during our last test (Monday) something came loose and it would not open. I released the fire system latch and the thing lost all tension and the door fell (didn't come off the track) and had to wind it back up.

Then adjusted the fire system. The fire system works by latching a switch to a pin and is tied to the tension of the door so when the alarm went off the pin released and lost tension on the door so that the motor would not open it and would go to manual mode only.

But anyway, I just thought I would mention this :) My favorite part is having a master key and a card swiper to get into high-security areas.

Thanks!

And I did get the door fixed. Works like new!

I was tired of construction, working in 10 degree temps in the snow. Needed a change and like being able to work in short sleeves all year, hour lunch, nice co-workers too.

Thank you for the reply.

That place wouldnt happen to have a moose out front does it?

I have an aunt that lives in Parker and I remember seeing some sort of wildlife place near I-25 when I was there last summer.

Moose?

Hmmm...

I do not recall a moose. Last time I came in the visitor entrance when I interviewed I did not see one but...

I usually come in on the west side where employees park. I know it is not over on that side. Maybe... I will check tomorrow!

I looked it up and Lincoln is the highway we took to get to my aunts house, so it would have to be the same place I am thinking of.

I guess that makes us basically kin huh? :-laf

Yeah you will have to visit!

We are open all week, 9-5 except for Mondays. Make sure you let me know, I will give you a tour!
