It was time for a new air filter, so I went with a K&N RE-0880 and prefilter. Now I hear lots of whistle and spool up, almost too much, is it supposed to be that much louder than the stock configuration ?

:D :D

Psycotty air system ??

Do you have a web address for Psycotty air system. Sounds like I may go that way.

I have a modified air box now don't like it and want to change. Need more cool air.

The problem with an unbridled RE-0880 is listening to the new high $ wifie supplied xmas present ... the new stereo. It is definately on the loud side. I wish there was enough room to sneak a 4" extension down under the battery to below the radiator & plug it in down there. :D

I have both the RE-0880 and pre-filter. Silencer ring is still there. I can barely notice any turbo whine and no sounds attributable to the K&N.

I had a K&N open element filter in the 14" chrome top housing sitting on top of the throttle body in a very bombed 97 Dakota. Talk about a sucking sound..... really annoying, but it was the sound of power.

You should have seen the look I got the other day from the driver of a disguised D-Max. This truck was a 2000 GMC dually but had '98 bed on it. No emblems anywhere. Michigan Manufacturer plates. The drive had on a GMC golf shirt. In the bed was a plastic tank that had liquid in it but no markings as to what. I figure by the size if it was water to be about 3000lbs. He also had a car trailer with steel weights approx 7000 lbs. (guess).

I had the cruise control on when I went past him. We started up a small grade and the turbo started to spool up. Oh what a look as he slumpped down in the seat. Another thing what called my attention to the truck was a puff of black smoke each time the road would start up a slight hill. :D

I love driving down the interstate when its in the 90's and run across a econobox with no AC and see then roll up their window. You know it takes 10 miles just to pass them, and by the time i get around them, they are rolling down the window for the smokescreen. :D They hate me. :D
