I just purchased a new '04 Layton model 289 toyhauler, and would like to know if anybody out there who also owns one would share any good (hopefully!) or bad experiences they've had with it. Any info/suggestions/etc will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Have heard nothing but good things about your trailer. You might want to check out the toy hauler section at rv.net in the open roads forums if you already have not. Good luck and have fun!

Is that a "new" or "new to you" 2004? if "new" i hope you got a killer deal, cause you'll pay for it when you sell it if not. The 06's are trickling out now!

tell us about it what's your floorplan like (vapor wall, no vapor wall front-mid master, number it'll sleep etc. )

we opted for bunk beds in place of the master, damn sorry i didnt get a genset, other than that we've enjoyed ours and are glad to have it.

enjoy!

It's a new (unsold) '04, and I got what I think was a good deal on it. Among several reasons, I bought it especially because I don't plan to sell it anytime soon, so the resale value's not a problem to me. It has the "standard" floorplan, with the normal size front bedroom. It didn't come with the refueling station, but the dealer's adding that on for me soon. It'll sleep 6 very comfortably. Having a genset was a mandatory item, as we camp and ride ATVs in some pretty remote areas out here in NM.
