I had my lift pump replaced and ever since if I park in an incline for more than 24 hours it starts real hard. I have to cycle the pump a couple times. then it will finally start. At the same time I changed the fuel filter also. One other thing I noticed is more black smoke when I put the peddle to the floor on take off. I asked the dealer If I would have hurt my injection pump when my lift pump went out and he said it tested OK. and he said you only have 78,000 miles anyway so if it goes out it will be under warranty. I really wonder if he even tested it.

Outlaw,

check that all of your fuel lines are tight, not just the inlet and outlets of the lift pump. The installer may have opened an injector line to bleed air from the system after installing the pump. Just a thought.
