I've had DD2's&Mach 1. 6's(current) in my truck and have experienced two events: first, when coming to a halt after a freeway run,I experience a slight loping for a few seconds, secondly: if the truck has been shut off, upon starting and immediately engaging drive I get a semi-stall situation, partly I surmise from the tight converter, and the inability of the v. p. to keep up with the higher fuel demand. You might have other issues.

I want to add that the minor symptoms I experience now with the Don's,manifested themselves equally with the DD2's before. The truck does idle slightly better and produces better mpg's. Thanks goes to Bob W. for great customer service.

When I first installed my 1. 6s upon initial start up it idled a bit odd - kinda like my old worked out 289 used to. It sounded a little cool but, I knew a diesel shouldn't idle like that. Had a small leak on the #6 (yep had to be the PIA one) feed line. Once I got it snugged and stopped the leak it was smoother than stock. The only time I get anything now is first start of the day - the idle will be a bit lopey for the first 15 - 30 seconds then it just kind of smooths itself away . . . I know it's been said before but - you get what you pay for. I'm glad I did my homework and listened to the folks here, my DTT trans guy and Rip Rook about the F-1s. I'm a happy camper - I'd only be happier if I went with a set of 4's and an hbt2/14 from the giddy up. Gives me something to look forward to - once I locate an LS rotor to rotor.

I've had a couple sizes of Don's injectors in my truck and liked them both. The 4s idle better than stock. And mileage is actually up when you stay out of the throttle. :-laf i hope someone invents a VP that flows huge fuel and will stay alive.

follow up on install

Just put my new vp44 in. still have a slight hesatation when going from park to drive and reverst. idle is just barly smooth. over all tons of power. now how can I smooth out the idle? any thoughts?

no not yet.

I was thinking the same thing, I'M now at 83500 miles might be the the thing to do. now that I have anew vp44 what coult it hurt?
