I've been lurking on this board for about 4 months now and have to say that the members of the TDR and the information that I got was what made me feel comfortable in buying my first CTD. The truck is a '98 QC 4X4 LB (12valve) with 100k on the clock that I happend to fall into for $15k. I am very happy with the truck so far... pulled my 27' TT for the first time a week or so ago. Very nice pulling truck. DC has to be kidding with this transmission though. I feel that half the power is lost there. I knew after reading this site that there were some answers to that problem and anything else that might come up. As for the first mod, a set of guages is in order, then who knows. Again, thanks for all the information.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you got a really nice truck and a GREAT price.

DB;
Welcome aboard. Why don't you think about joining the NW BOMBVOY to BD Days on the 21st of this month. There is a lot to be learned from our friends to the north.

Howdy, DBC!
sounds like our trucks are "twins"
BD has the transmission goodies that the previous owner apparently omitted, along with power stuff for the engine. I've got all their goodies, except for their new TC (fluid-clutching 94% efficient, with lockup clutch surface area comparable to a manual's!). I want that TC and I think they also have a new design valvebody that allows "lockup" in 2nd. I think i'll see what i can negotiate about an upgrade #ad
You will love that truck of yours.

Tracy, thanks for the invite. Unfortunatly I will be in B. C. for a wedding that day. Planning another quick trip up there to DTT someday soon.
Rich, I'm all over the transmission mods! I would like to do these first because it doesn't matter how much power the motor makes if I can't get it to the ground.
Thanks, Dan

DB,

Are you the Famous DB Cooper who jumped out of the 747 in 1971 with $200,000? #ad

Thanks BCFAST, that stairwell was just the ticket. $200K should have bought me a bunch of go fast goodies, but I spent it on hiding from the law, and buying a new pair of shorts after the jump. What a mess.
