I have been lurking here about a year. I finaly joined last week. I can say for certain what I learned here helped me build my truck to what it is today (although never finished. )

If anyone is on the fence about joining, I wish I would have done it when I STARTED this build!

I bought this about 14 months ago, bone stock white / silver 2 tone 207k miles.

I bought it to tow a 5th wheel.

MODS - GENERAL - All new brakes / bearings, rear rebuilt, new front coils, Sulastic soft ride rear shakles, new aluminum rad. Hughes finned deep pan on mystery (recent HD rebuild,) transmission with Suncoast TC & VB. Steward Warner EGT, boost, trans temp. Prodigy brake control, Reese 16k. Alarm / tint.

PERFORMANCE - AEM Workhorse, PDR intercooler, ditch EGR, KDP, pump tweaked (by Brett, formerly Winspeed, now Left Coast Diesel,) 3k gsk, 300 bosch injectors, mystery (econo / tow,) fuel plate, ATS ex manifold, HTT quick spool 60/12 w Banks Big Head, 4" exhaust w cat delete.

EXTERIOR - WAAG dually kick out bars, Line X to old molding line (debadged / dechromed / delete molding,) blacked out stock bumpers, RECON LED side marker / cab (99 & up style) / 3rd brake light, smoked rear taillights and headlights, paint is '03 mustang GT, power tow mirrors. Ultra Goliath dually wheels in 17 x 6. 5 (stock 03+ 17 x 6 inners,) with 245 / 75 / 17 Nitto dura grapplers.

It put down a disapointing 270hp  on a dynojet, but there was no curve, the hp was flat as a table from 1700 - defueling around 3000. 688 torque:)

I have a WinSpeed grid heater delete & CFM intake horn waiting for me at Left Coast Diesel along with a custom fuel plate. I think the fuel plate is holding back the HP, I think this combo should be good for 350 hp (injectors too small?)

It may not have the highest HP #'s but it flat boogies on the freeway when pushed and does what I built it for.

What's next? Alcan custom rear springs w/ lift block delete, new shocks and new stereo / speakers.

My favorite part on the whole truck? When I ditched the restrictive EGR intake horn a buddy had an intake horn for a common rail laying around. However, the stock 96 intercooler discharge pipe didnt want to line up right, SOO, my new hard pipe from intercooler discharge to intake horn is black spray painted 3" EXHAUST PIPE that we cut off the old exhaust when upgrading to 4"!!!:-laf

I learned ALOT here just lurking, saved some $$ here and there, but wasted some by not joining earlier. Great site.

It was tough to coordinate all the work on the truck while still being a daily driver. Added a couple of pics.

1. - how I bought it

2. - better current pic

BTW - the second pic in my original post isnt that great of the truck, I included it because I heard diesel guys LIKE STACKS!

I was hoping to submit a pic for the calender but didn't get the wheels on / detailed until Thursday night and couldn't get the "money" shot Friday. I know there are some great trucks here and it was a long shot. Maybe next year I'll find the right set!

I would say go with a #6 or #4 plate. . being that it is an auto, and if that's not enough, get some 191 Delivery Valves! Ditch the AEM intake, get an AFE (Way better quality) and watch your numbers increase!
