Help! I love the torque my Cummins has, but want more. What are the easy ways to get more without going crazy (for now)?

And help me out with all the abbreviations. I'm so confused.

Depnds on how much money you want to spend. First things first, get some gauges, most important, Boost and EGT, both will cost about $200. 00-$250. 00 depending on brand. They are easy to install. Then you can do other stuff and be able to monitor your engine. The easiest thing to do is a K&N or Amsoil in the stock airbox, or better, a bigger filter like a K&N RE-0880. That will open the truck up a bit and sound good too. Then you can get an EZ box and really have fun. i just put one in my 01' last week and it is absolutley incredible how much it wakes the truck up. It takes literally 2 minutes to install and you can get them for as low as $500. 00. Aside fromt he K&N and a 4" exhaust, my truck is stock performance wise. I still get 24mpg, have cooler EGT's and PLENTY of power. You should definatley do an exhaust to help keep the EGT's down. The JRE is nice, but if you strapped for cash, Jardine has a nice kit in the $400. 00 range. There is a thread from Ted Jannetty regarding the order of mods on your truck. For some reason search never works for me, but give it a try.

Good luck, Enjoy your Ram

Tentman, first of all welcome to the TDR :D !! Now, see if you can get a signature line going so we can see what you're driving. Then read this: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9797&highlight=proper+order. OK, now do some searches on injectors, fueling boxes, boost modules, gauges, transmission modifications, air intakes, and exhaust systems -- and read, read, read. OK, now you're ready to ask some questions -- then get ready to abuse that credit card :D But, as Joe succintly put it, BOMBing is an incurable disease that will always leave you hungry for MORE POWER, hope you've got an understanding S. O. :D !!!

Until I figure out the signature thing, here's what I'm driving. It is a 2001 2500 quad cab sport, 3. 54 gears, and automatic. I did have the computer reflashed (my brother-in-law works for Dodge and has identical '99). Other than that, drivetrain mods have not happened yet. The next biggest problem is the interior is hardly work truck ethic, loaded w/leather. Sure is rough!

Here is a little something I copied off of the TDR a while back... I don't remember who posted it or I would give them credit... :D :D :D :D
