New Member, Truck on the way!

I just wanted to say hello and thanks to everyone on the TDR site. Whether you realize it or not, the hundreds of posts (maybe even thousands) I've read over the past few weeks have strongly influenced my decision to order a truck and how to equip it. I've spent alot of time over on the drof site as well, they also contributed to my decision.

Today I placed an order through a local dealer for a well loaded Cummins. Called DC today and they tell me I'm D1, sheduled for a 10/1 build. MSRP was around $39. 8 and my dealer sold me the truck at $35. 1 ($300 over invoice). I'm pretty sure it won't be here by 10/2 when the rebates expire, but I'm hoping for yet another extension or maybe even an increase in rebate money. I'm stopping off at the farm bureau on my way home tonight to "earn" another $500 rebate.

I find myself becoming obsessed with waiting for the truck to come in and I've still got 6-8 weeks of waiting left. I guess I now join the countless others that await the arrival of our trucks.

Welcome, I have been a member for @ 8 months. I just posted my frist topic and now a responce. You are right about the people and their posts on TDR. You made the right decison on a truck. I know how the wait can be. I have ordered 4 trucks in the past 7 years. I bought this truck(frist diesel) off the lot, because it was a diesel, and it had Mich. tires on it. I do not like Goodyear, great race tire, bad truck tire.
Have fun when you get your truck.
P. S. break it in right, load it down and pull some weight. It will break in faster and better. You can ask everybody on the TDR.

Congratulations WB!

As far as the rebates go, my bro just ordered an "01. 5 about a week ago and was also concerned about taking advantage of the rebates as the local dealer he ordered through told him they would need the invoice by October 3rd in order to take advantage of the rebate... . my bro then called Dave Smith Motors to find out about this and was told that this is in-correct, the day you order the truck is the date they use for rebate purposes!

My brother then called DC and they confirmed this... as it turns out, his truck is shipping on the 13th of this month and ETA at the dealership is around the 27th, so as it turns out, he would have gotten the rebate regardless.

You know, that was my most difficult decision when ordering my truck. I really wanted driftwood, but as you know, it's been discontinued. Not sure why, I believe that was their most popular color. In the end, I selected Bright Silver with agate leather interior. Haven't seen any with that combination yet, but I'm hoping it will be a sharp look. Once it finally comes in, I'll take some pictures to post on this site.
