hi everyone,

well after sitting back and reading the posts for a couple months,i too decided to join. i have found this to be one of the most informative sites i have ever seen.

about my truck,i bought it used 2 years ago. a rather nice lady owned it,and used it to pull her horse trailer. she traded it in on a 2000 model. it had 38300 miles on it. excellent condition, inside and out. it now has 59000 miles and runs and looks perfect. i couldn't be happier. i won't be bombing it,really can't affordto. but as things like exhaust and such go bad they will be properly replaced. we tow a 37 ft. nomad travel trailer about 4-6 times a year. the darn truck doesn't even know it's there.

is there a way to check and see if the KDP has been fixed ?

lastly,it really is nice having Geno's close by. they have been really helpful.

that's all for now, keep up the great work.

:D :D :) :)

Mike, welcome aboard!!! I am not sure what the answer is on the KDP but someone will chime in and help you out. If not post it in the 12V forum where the experts on that sort of thing hang out.

Mike:

Welcome to the TDR Website!

If your KDP has been "fixed" you will be able to

see a bolt through the top of the front cover

which is just behind the fan. I believe you

will have to take off the idler pulley first as

the "fix" is right behind where it sits.

Hope this explanation was O. K. If not,

"Rammin On" (Keith L. ) can help you.

Welcome Mike

To see if the KDP has been fixed, John P is right you need to take off a few things, not really a Big deal, nice time to change your Serp Belt if needed.

Welcome Mike. If you've owned your truck for two years I highly doubt your KDP has been contained unless the first owner had a failure and the front gearcase cover was replaced with the improved type under warranty. If the gear case cracked and was replaced the engine data plate is most often glued back on rather than riveted.
