Hey everyone, I just found out that I got the job I wanted at White Sands . I Can't wait to get out of the Los Angeles area and to a more open less populated section of the country.

I am wondering how many members are in the area, and if you have any words of advice about moving there (thinking Las Cruces)?

You are going to one of the best inland beaches in the entire United States of America. Our beach is pristine. We don't have all that nasty sea weed. We don't need those dumb floaty thingys for our kids that the people on the right and left coast have to buy. We don't need those snorkley underwater things they have, either. Because WE DON'T HAVE ANY WATER at our beach. BUT, the white sands beach is absolutely beautiful.



You'll find that the primary attitude here is "tomorrow". But that doen't mean a literal tomorrow. It means "probably whenever I finally get around to it".



You'll also have to get used to real green chili. Not jalapenos. Green chili. There's a world of difference between the two. Most of the green chili has a wonderful flavor - but be forewarned. It will melt the silver off a spoon. I've seen some of it so hot that when you put a spoon in a bowl of it to serve, only the remainder of the spoon handle was left. The rest had been disolved.



You have a few TDR friends down in the southern portion of NM, but most of us are about 200 miles north of you.

Thanks Wayne, I'm looking forward to getting over there and out of this mad house of So Cal. Can't wait to see the terrain there and do some exploring in either the Dodge or my Heep (CJ5). Call me crazy but I am looking forward to the Green Chili too.
