I like the first one better than the second.

When you mentioned Graphic Artist, I clicked. I work with 2 graphic artists. Maybe I will give them your ideas and tell them to run with them. See what they come up with too.

I do like the first idea pretty good. Except maybe the NM TDR part in the logo, not by the side. And I also prefer if we could do something that is "die cut friendly". I dont like big stickers with lots of white space.

First one looks similar to the turbo Buick "power 6" logo... By default, I like it... ! (I have a 1987 Grand National, too. . )



Let's see some more ideas - this is pretty cool guys... ...

i like the top one also, i like the red, white and black color scheme instead of the yellow. nice work juan, i think we are almost there
 
I think the second one is more visualy pleasing to me but the first one captures the esthetics of the TDR logo. I don't think I like the text in the first logo. Might be interesting to capture the TDR logo portion into the second one somehow. Also the first one could be an animated gif with the zia spinning like the TDR logo does. My 2 cents.

Wow, miss a few days and it takes a along time to read all the posts! It seems like we are picking up interest. Good job.



I like both of the logos, either one would work with just a few tweaks. One idea came to mind. Personally, I would like to have a chapter sticker that compliments the TDR sticker already on my back window. For example, similar size and similar turbo graphic like the TDR logo would be good.



I will keep watching this thread and try to meet you all for lunch on the 12th (is that right?) I like Bob's too. I will need at least a day's notice so I can drive the Dodge and not the mpg-getter, s*** box like I usually do. Tough on the ego, good on gas. :p

Not much else was said about a 12th meet. I think maybe because of the meet on the 20th at K&I/Dragstrip?

my CTD is my mpg machine too. My other truck gets 4-5mpg :-laf



Juan, how about maybe making "enhancements" for our current TDR logo? Like maybe just a "New Mexico Chapter" wrapped around the bottom of the current sticker? just a thought. Cheaper too!



So, you gonna take the GN out to the strip? We used to have a GN but it was junk (parts car). We had a GMC Syclone too. Fun cars/trucks.

Haven't raced it here in Abq. since '98... . (haven't really modified it since then, either. . ) I got it into the 12-teens & didn't wanna 'cage it (to go 11's), so the sanctioned drag racing stopped... ... Now, on the street... ... ... ...

:-laf I have raced it in El Paso & Vegas since then, and it still runs bottom 12's with nary a complaint... . The V8 street cars have gotten a LOT quicker since '98 - so maybe it's time to look at some mods to stay one step ahead???



... or try to get my CTD 3500 4x4 into the high 13's!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:
 
the syclone we had ran 12. 55 when we sold it.

My vote is to make the CTD run in the 13's. the fastest one here I have seen is somewhere in the 14. 5-14. 7 range. We need some faster diesels in NM!!!

I know there's a fast F250 PSD running around. . Mid 12's I believe. . ??? Silver extended cab, long bed 2WD... . Anyway - it'll be awhile before I have anything that fast, esp. as BIG as mine is. . (uhh - my TRUCK) :eek:



Anyone know what Donnelly's CTD runs. . ?? (There's another thread I stumbled on where he's getting some heat from some east-ish coast knuckleheads about not racing "out there". . ) Could be a fable, but didn't he put down, like 700+HP to the rollers. . ???

Ok so I got my days mixed up. The 12th is Saturday eh? Actually I work pretty much every day. Just some days I do the work I really want to do (i. e. no pay associated with it).



What mileage are you guys getting out of your CTDs anyway?? My little car gets 38 mpg, my 2500 4X4 does more like 16 average. My fuel bill is lower and I don't have to put lots of commuting miles on my truck. My commute is about 80 miles per day.



I have people in town on the dragstrip weekend so wont be able to make that meet.
 
You guys getting together on the 12th? My middle boy is having his 5th birthday that afternoon (plus I am on the road this week), so I probably won't make it - unless for a short "hello". Let me know where/when.



I'll work a little on the logo. Thanks to all for the input I don't do this stuff for a living, only for fun, but it'd be cool to show off our NMTDR affiliation.

Joe's "Sickly" was running 799+ HP if I remember. Sadly "Sickly" has a new owner if I remember correctly. Betcha his new one will get there someday, too.



BTW - my wife thinks I should get my trick on the strip - even if just for a laugh! I told her I might bring the prize home for the "Slowest mother******" in NM!"

3500 4x4 QC: 14-15 city. . I got ~16 coming back from Phoenix a few weeks back - travelling about 80/85 MPH... . (I'm not real patient... Mesa to Rio Rancho, 6 hrs. ) My last trip to El Paso only netted me about 15 mpg... . 75-80 MPH...



Pops' 97 12 valver 3500 2wd routinely gets 18/19 mpg at 75 mph, unloaded... ... When he pulled a 40 footer gooseneck (loaded with both of my younger brother's Buick TTypes) to Vegas & back in November, he averaged 14 mpg, with a best of 16... .

MPG?! i probly get some pretty bad numbers but i am one of those when its at a quarter tank, fill it up, if i get 20 or 15 it still needs fuel. maybe i am just turning a blind eye, but oh well. oh btw, made some acura integra with about ten thousand bucks worth of extra plastic look funny and probly feel real slow last night on juan tabo, he couldnt believe his eyes :--)

I've only seen one fast PSD at the strip. He claimed 480+ hp and 1082 lb/ft torque. But he only ran like a 15. 1 when I saw. There is one duramax (and soon to be another) that is running in the 14. 5-14. 7 range. There is also one 96 CTD auto with all ATS parts that is running in the 14. 5-14. 7 range. Those are the fastest I've seen out there. Been many guys who show up claiming they can do wheelies :-laf , or smoke all 4 tires, etc. Most of those types run in the 16-17's :eek: .

I dont believe Joe has ever run his old truck "sickly" at the strip. He is a dyno guy. But yes, Joe has broke 800hp with sickly. He has the sheets at his house. One that says "sickly failed" with a 799. 9 hp graph and then under it "to make 800hp". :-laf Highest hp single turbo #2 only. Sickly has a new owner now, though. Sickly was detuned when sold. (If you call 600hp detuned! :-laf ) Junior (his 04) is still makin some pretty respectable hp, though.

As for gas mileage, my 98 12V 5-speed 4x4 with a 3" lift and 285's gets 18. 5-20 driving from Los Lunas to SNL daily, and 20-21. 5 driving 65-70mph. Driving 75-85 I get about 18. Pulling 20K lbs I get about 14. 5 running 65 and pulling 10K lbs I get about 16 running 80mph.

I wasnt making fun. I just hate people that rant and rave about their stock 94 3500 5-speed cummins that will do wheelies, but only run 17's in the 1/4 :-{} . mmmm hmmmm. sure you can do wheelies.

Im in the 16-17 second range too :eek: . I think you and I will be the closest matched, or maybe me and mario and you. Jebia should be fast with the DTT and comp.

Maybe the 3 of us should have some sort of bet. Like if I win you guys buy me a turbo, and if either of you win I will take you to lunch?? :-laf
 
hmm sounds like i would be getting the **** end of the stick on that bet so, no. but i am interested in seeing what my truck will run, and i am going to be real jealous of jebia and his compd dttd wonder, i figger after seeing that i will have to sell one of my kids get a transmission
