So it looks like me, you, Dave, Ron (someone I invited) and a few others are going.

Jeez, we might as well start having weekday lunch meetings instead of weekends!!

So did Eric get ya or not?

BTW, I probably wont be able to work on your gauges until either this weekend or one night next week.

sounds good, i think i will start the guages and will look into getting a pan for the slushbox, and yea eric did pull on me! too bad he shifts like a chick! we will have to race from the line to really see

If you wanna run the pyro wire through the cab, run wire up to the pillar for the lights, and maybe run the hose for the boost into the cab also, that will save us a lot of time.

yeah, i figured his shiftin' skills were limited. Especially when he asked if he could beat you, and I said it was up to him and his right arm, he didnt seem to confident with his skillz.

New Mexico Chapter Turbo Diesel Register

Guys,

I have contacted Robin Patton about starting a New Mexico TDR chapter. I have all the paperwork necessary and am working out the minor details. What I am wondering is who is interested in participating.

I need a volunteer for Vice president, Treasurer, and Event Coordinator for now. It seems to me that LOtero and JMora are the other two most active, so I had thought of you two for these positions (except Juan, arent you out of town often?) I also figured you may want to hold a position, Joe D, since you are by far the most active/knowledgeable. If you guys wanna do this, and we get going futher, then we can have elections for positions. (I will put my name on the form as president for the time being, if that is fine with you guys)

TDR will send out postcards regarding the first meeting to members in a 50 mile radius of us, so I was gonna use an albuquerque address to cover all members.

Let me know what you guys think about this. Both Pro's and Con's.

sounds like a plan, i think there will be a pretty good turnout with the new mexico guys, lets see how it goes. i didnt see the option for official beer getter guy, if i just missed it or if you are going to put one in, i volunteer!!

LOtero,

I was a 702 - an admin puke. Retired 31 May 93. Several years ago I had some 351's working for me. They weren't slow, and they weren't fast. They were half-fast 702's. :-laf :-laf :-laf .

Looking forward to seeing all y'all tomorrow morning at the Red Balloon at 0800.

he he he thats funny stuff, yup i am a knuckle draggin, booger pickin, wrench turnin crew chief, but i like it alot, i am always traveling, not as much as mora, but enough to keep things interesting. damn it doesnt look like i am going to be able to get to red baboon tomorrow, that sucks i have to work, but oh well next time. VP huh? i dunno i aint dun two smart in al that there skoolin

Well, if I hadn't taken typing waaaayyyy back in '68/'69 during my senior year of high school, I might have been one of those scum sucking, bottom feeding, back stabbing, puke-belching, butt-scratching, nose-picking, wrench turners or hammer swingers. But the Air Force, in all it's infinite wisdom decided that I would be a better witless taff than a mechanic or carpenter. So, for 20 years (and I tried to cross-train but my year-group wouldn't allow it) I sat on my butt driving a freaking IBM Selectric Typewriter and playing "Radar" from Mash.

Hey wait a minute - I just realized something. When I retired, I became a government contractor - all of those descriptions fit me pretty well.

So how do y'all like that 'new' Defense Travel System'? I was the DTA for AFRL until this past June. My position went to a different contract company and I applied for my job (that I had been doing for the past 10 years). They hired from within and got a girl that didn't know the difference between DTS and a CTD. :-laf :-laf

Now if I could just get another job back on base, even as a contractor..... (sigh) :{ :{ :{

Yep.

Just call me Mr "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" - just landed an hour ago. Actually I would love to help out but...

My company is trying to decide whether I belong here or in Chicago. I just got back from a week that saw 3:00am flight arrivals, cancelled flights, four nights in three cities in four hotels on four airlines AND I still don't know what happened to my Christmas vacation!

But seriously...

Within the next week or so I will know if I am going to keep doing this position (and keep travelling) or whether they are going to release me back to the local group (with limited travelling).

Love to join you guys tomorrow, but I have exactly 35 hours before I go back to the airport (although this week I get two days in Oshkosh, WI - Boo - and then 3 days in Vegas - yeah, baby!)

I have a laptop and try to check up on the board every night.

I'd like to see a chapter, and I don't mind pitching in if I am around.

Anybody besides me wish Hertz rented Cummins Turbo Diesels?

Juan

HERTZ RENTING CUMMMINS!!! THAT WOULD BE SWEET! :D but then again you have to think of all the granola crunchers who have no idea what a wait to start light is and will shut down the engine at #450 when they get to their pilates class, (no offense pwerwagn i know you are a member) would be cool though. i wish i could be at freakin red baboon right now!!! oh well here i am working like a sucker. hey argo i talked to the guy at the gate that i told you about and he is a member here and i guess has been in touch with our NM ctd guru (forgot his name) and they said they are interested in a NM chapter, and will be checking in, his name on here is something bean, my memory called in sick today sorry

We had 6 people show up at Red Balloon this morning.

I really want Idaho Natives truck. My dream truck.

We had one visitor also, who may join TDR. It was nice.

Yeah, MBean.

I have asked Joe is he wants to be event coordinator.

So that leaves VP and Treasurer open.

any takers?

Yeah, the Red Balloon thing was great. Very enjoyable gathering, and visit. Nice to meet you all. LOtero, hope you can join us if we do it again. Lunch offsite during the week is not always easy to do. Maybe we could all meet for Taco Tuesday at the bowling alley?

Pwerwagn, I will be thinking about taking one of the officer positions, especially if that's the only standing in the way of starting a local chapter.

Also, I agree Idaho Native's truck is something else. All the right equipment, and yellow to match the accent stripe on my boat. :-laf

I will work on getting Jason to join TDR. He's a good guy.

Thanks wcaldwell for setting this up!

WRS

I also enjoyed having breakfast with all of you. Good bunch of guys. Let's all work to get a local (NM) TDR chapter going.

Have to get together and do it again sometime.

OK, did any one take pictures? What's he got?

I will be out this week but hope to have resolved my future by the time I get back. I'm likely to tell the bosses what to do with themselves (not a pretty sight, but... ) so I may be back for a while.

If that happens, I'd consider running foa a position.

Could you SRW Auto guys handle a DRW 6 speed guy?

Juan

Gents,

Thanks for letting me crash your party. It was great to meet all of you...

Juan, I'll try to post a pic in the reader's rigs gallery, but it won't be for at least a week. The one that I have in there now is my "old" 99 that I replaced with the 05.

If my pickup ever turns up missing, I'll be headed to ABQ first:D.

Cheers,

Loren

Ah, so you have a Solar Yellow truck. I wanted to order one really badly untilI found out that they won't spray that color on a dually.

A Solar Yellow Sport Dually 4x4 would have really been nice. .

I once saw a DeWalt 2nd Gen Ram in Denver painted in DeWalt yellow. Looked really sharp.

Juan

from what i hear that was one really nice looking truck! so whats the deal are you just down here temporarily or are you here to join our motley crew? about that dually, sure i am sure we could handle it, ill just park on the opposite side of the parking lot :-laf . yea we will have to get together for a taco tuesday maybe next week, i am lucky enough to currently have a really open lunch schedule, so its all up to you guys. let me know if you wanna go and i will let twalker and the other guard pukes know so we can all finally get together.
