Help!

We finally gave in and bought our fifth wheel this weekend! After four years (!!!) we finally quit analyzing and dove in. I am out of town all this week on business. I need a couple of things:

Does anyone have a Dodge pigtail for the trailer brake controller (from the tow package)? I misplaced mine and will replace it with new as soon as I get one. Don't know if they are in stock in any dealer.

Joe:

Can you recommend a good dealer or RV parts store in Vegas? I'm here all week. What about a good towing box?

We're going to pick up on Saturday, but I need a Brake controller (I want a Brakesmart but they are AWOL so I'm going to probably try and find a Tekonsha Prodigy).

The wife is going to get the hitch installed (B&W with companion), and then I'm going to work on the e-brake this weekend (PacBrake PXBR). Anybody got any suggestions? This is our first big fifth wheel (actually, our first fifth wheel period).

We are excited! That goes without saying.

Let me know what you all think.

Woohoo!

Hey Juan -

Have not hooked mine up yet, but I got a Prodigy from "rvpartscenter" on Ebay for $96. 00, shipped. . I also bought a harness adapter from BBB_hitches for about $12. 50, shipped... Both were shipped pretty fast, they were here the same week I bought them. .

Going up for sale....

Hey Guys -

Well, after some "discussion" with pwrwagn (aka Jeff), I am going to go 12v. . I don't need friends like this. . BAD, BAD Jeff... Anyway, this means my 98. 5 24V will go up for sale in stock form on Autotrader for $16. 8k OBO, probably next week or the week after. . I plan on selling it stock, unless... ... ... . ... one of "us" knows of a good home for this white 3500 4x4, for $17. 8k (firm) - as it sits... with all the mods... (ie - with the Edge Comp box, with the BHAF, with the gauges, with the ATS converter, with the Mag-Hytec DD, with the Scotty fuel line, etc. . roughly $2000 worth of "extras", in all. . ) It has 139k miles, newer brakes, recent stock injectors, recent VP44, good tires (Michelin), good body, good/great interior. . update: lift pump is good! pressure gauge was bad. . 14 psi idle / 11 psi WOT... BAD stuff: cracked windshield, transmission gov solenoid / sensor needs to be replaced. . hopefully, this is a good deal. if not - set me straight!! I do have the governor sensor / solenoid, just no time to install. . Whattya think. . ??

man that sounds like a nice trailer! i am slowly workin on getting one myself, but it will be on the other end of the spectrum, to the tune of ugly small and on 315s :D

I'm so disappointed. I don't have many playmates down here in Las Cruces but low and hold on my way home I see a forest green QC cummins 2500! A young girl was driving and a young guy in the passenger seat. They sped up just a tad as I was pulling alongside... 3 guage pillar!! Oo.

Well, I am not mashing the pedal but I'm moving past and I can see there is going to be no fun with my fellow CTD so I put my foot into it for a second to get a block ahead, give them a flash of the tail lights and make my turn home . I'm so bored down here :(

dont worry. My cousin in LC is getting a 97 single cab 4x 12V 5-speed. He is gonna bomb it. Its gonna have the 7" skyjacker with 40" good year MT/R's. You may have seen their trucks around. They have some lifted super duty's and some 1500 chevs. They say either Liberty General Ray Franich or just Ray Franich construction on the side.

did you buy the trailer from Shannon at Enchantment, Juan??? We were looking at a 2004 37FLQS cedar creek from them (front living, quad slide). they were excellent on the price and didnt act like salesman.

did you get the fireplace???

wow you guys and your trailers! you are going to laugh when you see my future monster garage creation! ok i will start the bidding here, anybody want one or two 285 16 bfg all terrains with ~1/3 tread on them? they would make a good spare or two or even good tire to run on for a while. lemme know i will get pics or show and maybe even a depth measurement if im feeling froggy. went to the strip on sat night, but didnt get there till about ten and had to jump the curb and go in the exit, not many races that late, hopefully we can go this weekend.

I'll take them from you for $1 each and bail them. :-laf

Dude, Im tellin you. get a truck bed that matches yours, and put a cabover camper on it. Then put 315's on it. it would look sweet. or sour. one or the other.

you shoulda bought the camper I sold. I let it go for $100 just to get rid of it.

man i will tell you what i am considering doing the cabover thing, it just depends on which will give me less of a height issue, you remember the famous argo forklift incident :-laf

Yeah, I bought from Shannon. He sold a trailer to a friend of mine a couple of years ago. The thing that amazed me is that the second I walked on the lot he remembered my name, my wife's, what we were interested in, etc. and we hadn't been on the lot for 1 1/2 years. A good man in my book.

We looked at the 37FLQS last time we were in. Thought it was an interesting layout, but decided it wasn't for us. Shannon told me he had the trailer for over a year before he unloaded it. Said everyone liked it, but no one would buy it. Said he wouldn't bring another on his lot unless it was already sold.

Yeah, we got the fireplace. And the Euro leather chairs. Mama is really happy...

BTW, found a brake controller pigtail at the local Dodge dealer in Vegas. Thanks for all that offered.

Juan, a few of us have been talking about organizing an NMTDR get-together at the balloon fiesta. I was thinking it would be fun to get a section for TDR members in the camping area. I think it would be fun to get several TDR campers together, bar-b-q etc. during the day. This would be mostly local for us but there may be other members who would travel from other states for it too. It would be a good opportunity to meet other members.

We thought we'd like to go to the baloon fiesta and camp this year, but we're off the hawaii for my wife's 40th (courtesy of all my business road trips). we'll be gone the 5th through the 13th, but that means we'll be there for the first weekend.

let me know what you are planning.

We have done the first weekend every year, there is a mass ascension Sat. & Sun. with glow & fireworks Sun. night.

Balloon Fiesta Schedule

If you are good for that weekend, I will make my plans to be there that weekend too. It can be the start of a meet. :D

Hey guys! How hard is it to get RV parking at the balloon fiesta? I have always thought that's the only way to go on a fiasco like that. I would be up for bringing my lowly 2002 Tahoe 5er. The family would love it and with some CTDs around we men would have something to talk about!! How's ever body doin? :)
