"Gee ... Now if only it were edible (or drinkable) ... "

Well yeah, jeeze - wonder what it would do for my falling hair and flat feet...

I mean, here's all these guys spending big bucks for small gains with mechanical devices, and all they needed to do was switch to synthetic oil...

First of all, my apologies to the Ladies among us.

OK guys, here is the real nut in the shell ( no pun Iintended).

Boxers or Briefs?

Woven or Knit?

Button front or no?

Just a passing note on the oils. Synthetics are simply highly refined dino oil. Cost more to make, so they cost more to buy. Some better qualities? No doubt! Should you use them? Well, that is an individual choice much the same as the answers any of you would give to the above questions.

I enjoy the educated discussion about all kinds of subjects related to our trucks. I even enjoy the well informed opinions that are, many times, given. And, I especially enjoy quite a bit of the humor that passes through here.

But, and you all knew this line was coming, the back biting and pettiness becomes irritating. Hell, don't we all get enough of that in other places? I read these oil threads and have learned a few things. I have also learned that there is a lot of misinformation that is understood as fact.

I am not trying to impune any of the good folks that have posted in any of these threads. I am just trying to remind everyone, as I do myself, to stay with the spirit of this site. There have been many times that I have wanted to rip someone for some silly statement that they have made, but have found that it is beter for me to take five and/or perhaps not reply at all. Words mean things and like bullets cannot be called back once they are launched.

Man, is it Sunday? For a moment there I thought I was a Preacher. Sorry, Folks.

You're absolutely right Paul...

It's pretty rare anything new surfaces from these discussions - mostly just the same old personal opinions restated. Variations on the subject sometimes justify a new thread for an appropriate answer, as was the case in this thread - but after a while, simply rehashing a tired old subject just gets plain OLD and unnecessary, since this board's archives usually hold MANY threads on the very same subject.

Any more, being a long-time user here, I go thru page after page of threads that are nothing more than rehashes of stuff already discussed here MANY times in the past - sure, you CAN simply skip over the stuff - but sometimes it sure would be nice to be able to walk in a straight line, instead of frequently having to sidestep and dodge the tiresome stuff...

A sign of senility along with old age I guess...
