This Mopar unit is designed to work with the factory lift pump. It will not place stress on the lift pump. It meets Cummin's Standards and will not void/restrict your factory warranty like the others will (depending on your dealership and how much damage to the injectors has occurred).....

I didn't know this existed, is it plug and play for a C&C? what is the micron filtration on it, or does it just give more of filtering surface with the same micron filtration.

Better level of filtration and still uses the engine mounted filter as well. WIF sensor (on 2012) moves to the new filter (includes heating coils for the fuel also) and is less than $300. 00. Factory complete and needs no additional parts to install and is DOT certified. Fairly easy and no problems. We are very satisfied with this unit.

I would guess if you want to go with a home made unit it might be less expensive, but would not be DOT certified nor factory warrantied. Also, I don't know if you can get the fuel heater also?

Yes, that is how ours is working as it strips out the water prior to the existing stock filter system. We drain both anyway (the new filter and the stock filter), but the new filter stops it first.....
