Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) New motor Running bad

Cranked my motor for the first time yesterday. After gettin a few little problems fixxed it seemed to run fine, it idled good. After lettin it idle awhile i reved it up a little bit and it seemed rough. Took it for a drive and it ran bad. Its jumpy to start out which i think might partially be the throttle linkage i have rigged on it, but it smooths out when i get in it more and then once it revs so high the whole motor starts to shake and sputter. Any idea what might be wrong with it? I think the fuel supply is good. Could it be the timing? Its suposedly timed to stock timing. It has Dynomite Stage 3 injectors, HTT64/13 turbo, Pump turned up with a 0 plate in it, and the head is ported. I know i need to get the timing changed, but would that be making it run like that if the timing is correct and on stock?

I would start with timing & then valves.

well, it sure sounds like timing, so I'd do that first

Try setting your timing to 18. 0 degrees btdc.
