new muff from dpp

Got my new mufff from diesel performance yesterday. Put it on and it sounds great One thing i did notice is the smaller amount of boost. Before it was about 6 or 8 at 55 now it is 2 to 4 at 55 sometimes 0 . Is this goo or bad etg seam a tad lower also

We've been getting the same info from everyone that has installed our performance replacement muffler on the 2004. 5+ trucks. Drops the EGT, a little less boost etc. Shows how restrictive the stock muffler really is, and how much our muffler system improves the potential of the truck. Short of getting the stock muffler off the truck (always a bear to do) how did you find the installation of our muffler to the stock 4 inch pipes?

I installed the same muffler on my 04. 5 on Sunday. The install was fairly straightforward, removed stock muffler using a sawzall, trimmed the pipes to length and clamped everything in place. There is only a slight increase in in-cab noise and the truck seems to run a little freer. I don’t have any gauges yet so I don’ have any hard number to compare. I hope this frees up a couple more MPG with fuel running $2. 63 a gal.

Mark the install only took 30 min i went to midas i don't have a life thanks for a nice product . Again just adjust the lenth and cut the oldone off with a sawsall.

The muffler is our MBRP performance muffler system. It's built to replace the stock muffler using the stock 4 inch pipes. Uses the factory rubber muffler hangers and as the guys above mentioned bolts right in ! We have sent 50-60 of them out the door and so far not one complaint about drone either. They are built from 409 stainless just like the factory system so it'll last a long time for you. Call us if you have any questions etc. For those that off road or race we also have a cat test pipe in 409 stainless and aluminized too!

I ordered 2 cat test pipes and 2 mufflers from you about 3 weeks ago (before my trucks came in). The pipes & mufflers went in great, took me about 45 minutes per truck. I used 4 inch SS band clamps on the Cat test pipes, a band clamp on the pipe to muffler inlet, then trimmed about 4 inches off the tail pipe and welded it to the muffler.



I LOVE the Sound! and the system could not have been easier to install.

Is it physically possible to bolt the 03-04 MBRP exhaust in place on an O5? I ask because you can only buy a cat back system for the 04. 5-05.

A "cat test pipe" is a replacement piece of 4 inch pipe (properly bent) to fit in place of the cat. Also commonly refered to as a Cat delete pipe - just replaces the CAT.

Excellent, we have had a number of folks buy multipe performance mufflers and cat test pipes from us, the sale os 2004. 5 Dodge's must reeeeeallllllyyyy be taking off!!

With some work you could do it, the main difference is the turbo outlet is larger on the 2004. 5's! We don't have a turbo back system as there just isn't any real gain to be had by replacing the stock down pipe, it's (fortunatley for you, unfortunately for us) pretty darn well made! The cat back system with a cat test pipe pretty much gets it as a complete turbo back 4 inch system, plus it saves you some money too! Love to sell performane tots, but want the customer to see real gains, selling you a replacement down pipe wouldn't be real ethical in my opinion. Get the polished 304 stainless tip with the savings.

Just wanted to thank you guys for your input. Had the mbrp muffler installed yesterday and it does as promised. Nice rumble when you get on it but no drone at all. EGT's dropped about 50 degrees. Nice product.

The turbo outlet casting is different on the 2003 vs 2004. 5+ trucks so you'll have to change that to make it fit etc. The 2004. 5 down pipe is already a 4 inch and that's why we don't sell you one, if we can't show a significant improvement it would be right to sell it to you. The cat back reuses the down pipe and saves you some money too!
