Another "here's a noise" question that no one will likely be able to answer w/o hearing the truck, but I'll try anyway.

Added a new PDR HX-35 and a 16cm2 housing. Shop said stay off it and keep EGTs down for first 200 miles for "break in". Got over 500 miles on it now, and the truck has developed a worsening rattle type noise under load coming from the general turbo area under hood. Rattle noise doesn't correspond to EGTs, boost, or idle. EGTs, boost and idle are all good - truck runs great! But... not sure if this is something I should have checked, or ... ? I checked exhaust, new housing for loosness/metal to metal rattles and everything is tight and nothing is rubbing. Could it be an exhaust leak, especially since its getting a bit louder? I don't have the torque #'s so I didn't put a wrench on the bolts yet. What is the torque settings for the turbo housing to manifold and the manifold bolts?

Perhaps this is a normal noise for the new turbo? She's definiately louder (the "whine" sounds great). Maybe I'm getting excited over nothing.

Check your down pipe where it turns towards the back of the truck. There is a clamp at this position. Mine has come loose many times. If it stays loose for very long you can snap the flange off the down pipe at the turbo.

If the bolt has broken off at this position. Get the broken piece out. If the threads are striped part way into the bell. You can use a 4" X 3/8" coarse thread bolt to replace the broken one with. Most 4" bolts do not have threads all the way down. Be sure to take a die and thread it all the way. Then run it in from the front of the bell and reinstall your clamp. I had to do this last summer. I lost half the threads in the bellhousing.

I think I would check to see if you forgot to tighten the mount for the pipe at the belhousing. Worst case, the mount broke. OR, it could be the pipe rotated when you had it loose and is now hitting the frame or engine.

You did say "rattle", not whine or screech.
