New NV5600

I just purchased a brand new NV 5600 transmission for $3,000 (Plus $275 for shipping to Alaska) out the door (no core charge) from a transmission dealer in Tallahassee, Fl. There web site is www.mantrans.com I asked if they could honor that price for TDR members but the answer is NO, they said that price was about $1,000 under normal price and they don’t have anymore new transmission anyway. They did say they have some reman units available but no price was given. The number is 1-877-626-8726 if anyone is interested. Talk to Jim and mention the TDR and see if it helps.

That sounds like a great deal, My running mate also is looking to replace his 5er with the 6 speed.

I heard that there is some changes that have to be done when doing the change out. A new crossmember and a couple other things which I don't remember. I also would like to do the change to the 6 speed instead of going with GV or another aux. trans.

When you do start the change,,are we going to get the pleasure of step by step pictures and instructions????

I'll do my best; I'll make a new cross member instead of purchasing one. I’m not a big fan of the way the present cross member attaches, it's a bear to remove and install.

Got to lengthen front drive shaft and shorten rear one. Also have to lengthen the transfer case linkages as well as the wiring for speed sensor.

after I break the NV4500 in mine again I am going to do the 5600 swap too.

Hopefully by that time the price may have dropped some.
