I have 5000 miles on the 05 questions I have are with the 48 re trans. I don't want to spend $5000. 00 on a new up graded trans . Will a good taque converter and valve body prolong the life of the unit ? I don't plan on any horse power uo grades but would like to add an exhaust brake. ski

The torque converter on these trucks is the weak link. If your going to replace the TC then also replace the valve body.
