ENGINE STALL

I AM A LONGE TIME DODGE PERSON, BUT THIS IS MY FIRST CUMMINS. I WAS PULLING A 6000POUND TRAILER AND I HIT THE THROTTLE REAL QUICK AND THAN OFF IT. THE ENGINE STALLED AND I WAS LEFT GOING UP HILL WITH NO ENGINE AND VERY LITTLE BRAKES TO STOP THE RIG FROM MOVING. I WAS WONDERING IF HAS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELES.

Welcome to the TDR! Congrats on your truck.

Give more details about your truck and exactly what happened and you'll get a bigger response.

MY TRUCK IS BONE STOCK, NO MODS TO IT AT ALL(YET). I WAS GOING UPHILL WITH THE TRAILER. I STOPED ON THE HILL. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I HIT THE THROTTLE DOWN. AS I DID THAT SOME ONE RAN THE RED LIGHT SO I WAS OFF THE THROTTLE. IT ALL HAPPENED REAL QUICK. AFTER I GOT OFF OF IT THE ENGINE DIED AND I JUST THE TRAILER ELECTRIC BRAKES TO HELP STOP. NOT A FUN PLACE TO BED IN.

Welcome to TDR! What year is your truck, auto or stick, how many miles? The more information you give the quicker the responce you'll get.

ps. Capilization of letter means you yelling. Just an fyi.

Thanks

Frank

Welcom to the TDR. I was frustraited after I first posted without a "profile" and everyone told me they needed more info.

If you don't know how to enter your "profile information" go to the top of the screen and look for the blue button that says "user cp" then fill out the information, view it before you save it then everyone will know what you have.

As far as the stalling out??? I'd like to know what you find out from the rest. I'm an auto and haven't towed anything yet. Good thing you saw the red light runner in time . . . eh?;)

I updated my profile. Sorry for all the mistakes, I am working on learning all of this. In case I didn't do it right I have a 2001 QC 4x4 SB, auto bone stock. no mods(yet) getting money togather for a 5th wheel hitch.

My truck would've stalled too,i think its just the nature of the beast. If you watched the duramax pull off,the dodge truck they used stalled under the same conditions,as yours were under, hard throttle, under boost, truck is just starting to move,RPm's about 2200,torque convertor almost at full stall speed, then totally let off the throttle,it will stall every time, try it on any truck. It must have been hairy trying to stop the truck, mine wont stop itself without the hydroboost working, let alone a trailer, and trailer brakes, and the trucks E-brake dont work well at all in reverse.
