Hello everyone, My name is Dan and I am the proud owner of a 1995 Dodge 2500 std. cab 4X4 with a cummins and an auto trans. This is my first diesel and I have to say that it is one impressive machine. 140,000 mi. and runs strong. I got the truck last week and I have since developed a small problem . The first 300 miles I put on it were great and uneventful. Around the 360 mi mark that I have put on it, it does not want to stay in converter lock up. anyone have any suggestions? It will neither stay in in drive (OD OFF) or overdrive. Other than that it seems to shift fine. TPS voltage is at 1. 09 at idle and goes to 3. 51 at WOT. Right around 3/4 throttle the voltage jumps from approx. 2. 8 to approx. 3. 1. TPS need replaced? I checked the fluid and it is clean and does not smell burnt. Although there is way too much in it according to the stick. It reads almost an inch over the full mark. Problem? This condition developed almost all at once it seems. I am usually not one to let other people work on my things and I am quite mechanically inclined so I would like to be able to resolve this problem myself with a little guidance from educated and experienced people such as the members of this registry. I have wanted a diesel truck for a number of years and just wasn't able to swing it. Now I have one and wonder how I ever made it without one for all of my 34 years. I would also like a repair/diagnostic book and an owners manual for this animal if some one could turn me in the right direction-alldata books any account? I do not believe the KDP has been taken care of yet and I will probably use the tab method.

I have come to the conclusion that the sound of a turbo diesel engine working hard is a sound that had to have been tuned by the ear of GOD himself!:D

Most likely there's a dirty spot on the tps windings right where the throttle rides the most. Shoot aerosol electronic cleaner at the spot where the shaft enters the tps while working the throttle back and forth. I use CRC brand from most hardware and auto parts stores. Work this into your oil change schedule to avoid future problems. Take care of your dowel pin soon and you'll have many miles ahead of trouble free driving.

Welcome aboard. I have used and or looked at most manuals. I find that the factory shop manual is the best. Either purchase through Dodge or Ebay or wherever. Please fix the KDP asap.

Welcome

From one '95er to another, A BIG WELCOME! Take the aforementioned advice. There are plenty of '95 users still out there.

You may also want to consider in the near future, going to a #6 TST fuel plate. You will be surprised at the added power you will gain.

Have fun with your new toy and keep posting.
