Ok here is my question! I have an 05 3500 4X4 CTD with the NV 5600, New process 272 manuel sift transfer case. I would like to know if I put a Dyantrack manuel hub kit in, will I need to worry abought the transfer case oiling properly???
I have called several Dodge dealers and got the same strange answer! They said that even if the transfer case is in two wheel the chain and output shaft will continue to turn. ( yes the axel is live all the time ) They have also said that it will continue to turn with the hub kit ( even if the hubs are unlocked or in the free position ). They also told me that the axel has a central disconnect???? I also have an 02 4X4 that has the Central Axel Disconnect,or C. A. D. , and there is nothing like that on the 05!!!#@$%!

Keep in mind you're still turning the REAR wheels with the transfer case, so most of the innards will be turning if your're moving.

What I am trying to do is stop the parts in the axel, front drive shaft, chain and drive sprocket form turning, just like my uncles 1st gen. His transfer and front axel all free wheel. Not only his 1st gen, also my 2nd gen's transfer case and front drive shaft stop turning.

You will not have any trouble with lubrication of your transfer case. I've had mine for about 20,000 trouble free miles. I can crawl under mine and grab the front drive shaft with no resistance to movement. I it does spin its doing it because of parasitic drag.

Thanks for the first hand experience, now I feel a little better abought the expense. How difficult was it to install?

Nothing to it, everything bolts together like it should. If you have any age on your truck the service bearings donot like to let go of the front stub shaft. Since the kit comes with replacement shafts any way I seperated it at the U-joint.

I have pics of the kit in my old readers rigs.

The only thing that does not turn in the tcase if you have locking hubs unlocked is the front output shaft, everything else is always turning (there will be no lube problems).
