Doug,

Will you be treating a bulk tank of fuel to dispense in all of your equipment? Did you speak with Leonard and get the info you needed?

Looking forward to hearing the results for you.

Eric

Come on now, this thread is allmost a month old now, someone should have some news by now. We want to know, anyone?

Eric,

Yes, I will be treating in a bulk tank. When I called, I think it was Leonard that I spoke with and believe that I'm all set with mixing amounts. I also noticed on their web site that EGT's might even be lower using Duralt:rolleyes: We'll see:D Might take me a little time, but I'll post results after I've given the stuff a fair test.

Doug, Why not give it a try yourself. Purchased 5 boxes of 4-2 oz bottles for about $36. 00. They offered a free box for buying 3 boxes and when you mention TDR, they wanted to know if you wanted a discount or another box. I opted for the box. Better bargain for the money. Try it you might like it.

O. K. guys,

Here it goes, I have put in over one thousand miles since the recieving of Duralt. To start out I saw no increase in mileage or a drop in egt's. After first tank of fuel, about 450 miles, I think my truck started to run a little smoother down the Hwy. I got an increase from 12. 5 to 15. 8 on a road trip to Pheonix(300 miles).

Who knows from what. Maybe I didn't drive 85 mph the whole way, just some, I don't know. While in Pheonix I had a Dtt trans upgrade installed W/89% TC and VB. I also installed DDII's at the same time. On the way home I got 18 mpg at first then a jump down to 14 due to a trailer full of 10,000 lbs of hay that I picked up with 125 miles to go. I will now fill up in the AM and start the calculations again. I don't think I will be able to tell much of a change due to one thing or the other. I will try and at least post results... Greg

Egt's pulling the trailer with the upgrades on a 6% grade were under 1050* all the time. That was with the speed up around 65-70.

I heard someone ask how much power can you get from a VW. Well how about 300hp with a 1835cc rail? And that's without NOX. The next step is an after cooler and bump it up to 2341cc. and THEN we'll ad the NOX.

This is NOT a street machine!!! It's a sand drager.

Milage?? What milage? Five gallons doesn't last very long but it's a fun not very long.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth. How would this Duralt stuff work with 118 octane race fuel?

Daughter filled up couple days ago she had been getting around 20-21 in town. This tank was 23. Nothing on my truck yet but going by the fuel gage it is getting better. Overhead computer shows 21. 5 but I always figure it with a pencil. Computer had been showing 19. *-20. * So going by that it looks like about 1-1. 5 better. Nothing to report on the VW yet. Now mama wants me to put some in her Accord. :-{} EShaw looks like you might have to start another thread on this if this is the last page.

Just a word about additives. I communicated with an engineer at Stanadyne about additives, and have done some research about it. He said that they have been making their additive and improving it since the late 70's, early 80's. They make fuel injection equipment, and know how to protect it since fuels have changed and sulfur content has been mandated lower for emissions. He also stated that we should be skeptical of an additive that is both for gas and diesel as the two are different. I have used the Performance Formula since the early 80's and have operated several near 200,000 mile vehicles without a fuel pump failure! I know it works! This additive is one of the few endorsed and recommended by Ford, GM, Navistar, Deere, Caterpillar, VW, Volvo Penta, and AM General. Short term improvements don't mean much with fuel additives. Longevity and protection are the keys
