Broken Bracket for Steering Gear Box

Will a 93 PCM work on a 92 W250?

I have a chance to buy a 1992 W250 Club cab (3B7KM23C3NM528280) flat bed. (Manual transmission W/ 154,000 miles)

The body and interior looks good from what I could see. It has been sitting in the guy's back yard for a couple of years with a blown trany and its under a large amount of snow right now so I'm taking him at his word that it was running when it was parked there.

He wants about $5000 minus the cost of the transmission. (Blue Book is $4,600 and NADA is $5200) Now the question is, how much would you deduct for the trany? I'm thinking the cost of a NV4500 would do it. That trany will bolt up without mods won't it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

you might want to look on this website for an NV4500 Quad 4X4 and if you need any help with that thing this summer i'll be up there for 3 weeks starting the end of april and then for 2 months starting in june.

Buy it?

You don't say if the truck has automatic or manual. In either case, there are parts other than the transmission itself that must be sourced to make the hook up. The current owner may not spring for that expense. If you only repair what is there, you might spend less money. You don't state mileage either. Sounds like the truck is overpriced to me. I don't know about prices in Alaska though.

$5k - nv4500 setup from Quad4x4= $3500 = $1500-2000 for the truck. That would be a good price for a truck with unknown history. Now if you can hear the truck run etc, thats a different story. But as James saids, MUCH too overpriced. I can't believe it, I see it all the time, people asking high dollar $4-$5k for a wrecked or broke down 1st gen, when you can get a great runner for that amount.
