Afe stage 2 intake

is anyone from the tdr lined up for testing out the new race box from quad? if anyone is, fill free to share info on it. ive been reading a little bit about it over on the dtr. it sounds a bit appealing. supposedly its a combination of the new tow box with a lot of top end.
 
yeah, but I think something happened that he left DTR, but Quad said he would keep us updated about it on there
 
I emailed them. They said they're just getting the first beta testing boxes out now. They're hoping to have them out around christmas. One would look nice in my stocking.
 
I am on the beta list. The member who tested the box from DTR was Bigblue. He was kicked off the site before testing was complete. Quad is trying to release the boxes soon, but a manufacturer is holding him up on wiring harnesses. He hopes to have this all figured out soon. I am really excited about phase 3 of his plans although no info can be released about it at this time, but I promise that you guys are gonna love it.
 
Cummins724 pretty much summed it up... . Everyone is waiting on the boxes to ship. Also as he mentioned if all goes as planned this box will be a "gotta have" item!

No news yet... seems to be a supplier issue with the wiring harnesses...

UPDATE it seems the boxes are beginning to trickle out... I'm gonna start stalking my mailman... :D

The pre-order ship date was to be DEC. 15 ,but it seems not to be true. some guys on here are STILL beta testing and keeping secrets, so SSHHHHHH!!

The box is flat out awesome. At this point it is still having little issues with the turbo timer & high idle that quad is straightening out as we speak. The power is smooth & definately feels stronger than my Drag/ Smarty stack, but a guy over at DTR dynoed back to back runs with his Drag comp... then the Adrenaline on PL 10 & lost one hp with the Adrenaline. He got Drag 542, Adrenaline 541hp, but another guy dynoed the Adrenaline & said that he got 30 more hp on PL 08 compared to PL 10. Remember guys, we are testing his production tune... .comp tuning hasn't been released yet. Also the Adrenaline has stronger low rpm fueling than the Drag comp... . fuels like Smarty at low rpm & still is throwing down those numbers. The off idle fueling feels just like my Smarty, but with almost no smoke & the pedal isn't jumpy. I think that once quad gets the little bugs worked out, this box is a homerun!!!!! Advanced Diesel Technology is taking preorders for it... . better get on the list!!! 304-864-3399

There was one at our clubs fall dyno event and the truck made less power with it than a TST Comp version..... Andy

Really, That is unreal. I'm surprised about that one. Do you know what mods the truck had by chance? Could he have been running out of fuel with the quad?
 
The truck is from right near you and has plenty of fuel. If the owner cares to jump in he will,but he did way better the second day of our event on the TST box on fuel alone than the Quad box. One thing he wasn't doing is running out of fuel,that is for sure... ... Andy
 
I know that quad had some problems with it running the pump dry with some comp programs, but he has changed alot since then. Like I said, some guys with big sticks get more power from lower settings than PL10. My truck sure has more on PL8 than any others.

How's the transmission acting with the Adrenaline? As I'm sure you remember, many of the Smarty problems are due to stacked shifts/etc with auto trannies.



Any input on this specific issue?

Also some feed back with how the cruise works with auto trans with large injectors. Does it solve the extreme surging we have? It would be nice to have a useable cruise control again.
 
I have a manual, but my friend has a automatic & he had a problem where the transmission would keep wanting to go into lockup running Smarty. It was locking up at 52mph with the Smarty, but it locks up around 56-58 with the quad. I never asked if he tried his cruise control, but he doesn't want to try any other tunes for the quad, he says the truck never ran/shifted this good & he don't want to mess with it.
