Stopped by Auge's in Belen NM yesterday on my way home. They had just received two (that I saw) new '03 Rams. One was a Gold-Bronze 3/4-ton Lariat SLT and the other was a White 1-Ton basic work truck.

I really liked the way the batteries were moved back on each side - on the driver side, they switched positions with the Power Distrubution Box, and on the passenger side they switched positions with the air box.

I WANT a couple of those new Cummins badges on the front fenders.

They are very nice but I have no desire for one.

I haven't seen the new heavy duty's yet.

Is the engine compartment really that much tighter that doing your own servicing will be a real head ache?

From what I've seen, I really like the new design,,,, but that engine compartment with the Cummins shoved half way under the cowl with a more narrow width really turns me off!

That hole looked a lot shorter (front to back) and a lot narrower (side to side) than the 2nd Generation trucks. I wouldn't want to try to do much work in there.

Sorta looks like I'd have an easier time trying to tune up or change the water pump in my wife's '99 Stratus V6 - and there's no room at all under it's hood.
