Thanks Ron, but actually I've been putting up with this for 4 years now. . and I've found that reclined is much better for me, and less lumbar support. I'm glad I have the lumbar pump... cause I alway deflate the thing... I cant on my Tauras.

Must be the way the disks are squezzed out...

Thanks for the trying... its the thought that counts...

The manual seats in my '97 were very comfortable. The adjustable leather in my '99 were as good after a short break in and very comfy after I settled into them.

My '01 has cloth adjustable and I can't get my *** back against the upright. It feels like there is a mis-alignment of some sort. Did they change the seats along with the clock spring?

Oh, that lower back pain.

From the very first time I took a long trip with my 97 I had to buy a small pillow to fill that space between my lower back. Worked great and used it all the time. Couple of bucks and you can move it all around as needed until you wear it out and then buy a new one. Although, I got really attached to mine and never left home without it. It was my bud. ;)

I would expect upgrading to a power seat should not be too much of a problem because the wiring loom should already be there. A wrecking yard or salvage might be a place to try. You will probably get a run around from DC.

A cheaper solution that I used on a previous vehicle that did not have an adjustable seat was to use "egg crate" foam. This is the stuff that you can get from a hospital supply or mattress dealer. I purchased a lamb's wool cover and cut and stuffed the foam under the cover. This essentially molded the seat to my back It took me a couple of times to get it right but it worked for over a 100K miles and I still had a large piece of foam to replace it when it finally gave out. I could sit in it for long hours.

I have the power seat and it seems like when I get it adjusted I bump a button or hit it and here we go again. I have problem with the height of the seat so my right leg don't get tired on a long trip.

Mine is fine

Just returned from a 2 day 1200 mile trip and I can say this is the most cofortable vehicle I've owned to travel in. I do have the power seats so that may be why I did so well.

Yes, I know what you mean. When I slide out I hit the controls and have to re-adjust when I climb back in. It would have been nice for DC to put an ON/OFF switch so things would not get screwed up.

I had thought about unpluging the connector when I get the seat into the correct position. The only problem with this is that it also is power for the in seat, seat belts. If power is removed the seat belts will lock up (fail secure). They do this for two other condition also: >. 5G loads and if you incline the vehicle over 45 degrees.

As far as getting the correct position in the seat there are certain rules. I can't not do justice here but can recommend someone who can. In a previous vehicle I was having the same problems: fatigue, and general uncomfort. I was talking to a shop owner who happened to be a race car driver and he sat me down and showed me up to properly setup the seat for maximumize efficiency. This really helped. So, get some help! I would start at a performance driving school. You may not like the position at first but it does make a big difference. It should give you better control and less fatigue.

I'd give it a little more time like homeboy said: I'm 6'0 and 260 and my buddy is 5'8" 170 and we drove 11 hours down to florida to buy some axles for my rockcrawling jeep we slept in my truck and then drove back the next day... we both couldn't get over how comfortable my seats were... every time i got in my truck I almost fell asleep for a couple weeks after that trip because it was so comfortable... . in fact, when I go rock crawling in Tellico, I don't even bring a tent anymore. (unless I bring a girlfriend)... and even then... I sleep in the truck! anyway, good luck with finding some seats ya like... I'm keeping mine... . one question for everybody out there... my seats don't lock down very good anymore... are there any replacable parts that wear out or what? if I sit in it and scoot my body back and forth it has a good bit of play in it... I gues me an' old lady friend wore it out:D

seat

dixie dawg, i'm told that the $360 8 way power seat upgrade is about $1000 if you have to buy the whole seat from dodge, i'll let you know, i mzy have to resort to that although for me, the blow up lumbar option doesn't hit me in the lumbar either, it just hits me in the butt and pushes my butt away from the seatback, maybe even making it worse, i guess i need to put on about 50 pounds so that i sink down further into the seat. john:(
