new rear cover from Dana

Well it took me two years of begging but I finally got a finned cover from my buddy that works for Dana. Now the questions. Do I polish the whole cover or paint it black and just polish the fins? Also what oil do I need? thanks in advance for any help.

No there's not a drain plug but like you said the price was right.

A 1/4 NPT plug in the bottom is real easy to do now with the cover off. Got a friend with a drill press?
