Do you have any details available on-line for the brake system? Or maybe a web page that we can visit to get a closer look at your stuff.

jhawkins,

Glen sent me some information in September, but it was buried under a huge email volume from some work related stuff (several department servers were hacked). This thread jogged my memory, so I dug back through my email and found the announcement. It is now posted as rear disc brake conversion.

Glen, if you can get me some photos of the conversion, and maybe a set of installation instructions, I will be happy to post them too.

Please see forum guideline #6. 0

i. No pricing discussions or group purchase discussions allowed on the TDR Discussion Forums. The discussion of prices is best left off-line in a private e-mail to those with interest as noted in the appropriate area of the Classified Advertisements. Why? Because many people who visit our web site do not want to pay to read solicitations and sales pitches in our technical Discussion Forums.

ii. No posting of the business web site or phone number allowed as a part of any post in the Discussion Forums. Vendors may include their homepage as well as business telephone number in their Profile. (To update Profiles, enter the "User CP" area of the Discussion Forums and complete desired information. )

iii. Vendor participants must have their business name incorporated into their signature block. No other solicitation may be included within the signature block by Vendors.

$2k?

Loving my $150 rear disks on my Blazer more and more every time I see the latest kit prices. Don't know anybody thats done it on a Dodge rear end, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. If anybody wants details, let me know and I'll post more.

pcorssmit, I'd like to hear of your buck and a half disc brake rear. I've heard of people using front discs off of 3/4 ton trucks for the rears of 14 bolts with home made caliper stands and the like. Please let us know how you did it. I have to wonder if the same idea would work on our trucks? As far as 2K for a couple of rotors, calipers and stands, I figure I'll go buy an axle out of a wrecked 2001. 5 truck, put it in mine and use the rest of the money to go on a vacation in Mexico for a few weeks. TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS??? Put the pipe down man, that stuffs bad for you!

Here's a link to a TDR post from a while ago.

Like I said in the post, I don't know if this will work on the Dodge rear axle, but I'm sure you could figure something out. I know I've read about several others doing rear disk conversions on full floater Dana axles on the 4x4 boards. If you want to look, you might try here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/, best bet is in the "general" forum. A tad crude at times, but there is lots of good info there. Just watch out you don't get flamed too hard if you post anything as a "newbie".

Colorado K5 is also a good one, http://coloradok5.com/forums/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=blazer4x4, but some of the technical info leaves a bit to be desired.

If you end up trying it, I'd be interested in your results as well.
